Senior Category Manager - D2C Segment - Garments

Within the ambit of the role, you will be single handedly driving the Overall business charter . You will be responsible for the pricing and overall promotion of a product category to maximize consumer appeal. A Sr. Category manager will be given sole responsibility for creating realizable plans for the category and will thereby be expected to monitor and report any wins /gaps as far as growth objectives are concerned on the stated plans.

A Sr. Category manager must have experience in understanding consumer needs and the retail environment and must have a commercial mindset and full comprehension of marketing and sales principles.

Responsibilities will include:

- Act as the 'business owner' for her/his categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact our business.

- Develop a comprehensive business plan.

- Have a thorough understanding of the industry, trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments

- Achieve budgeted profits and topline business.

- Manage inventory to maximize stock turns and monitor discounts/price grids across Category.

- Provide direction to buyers to plan product assortments.

- Put in place systems and processes to achieve customer centricity as a key value across all levels of the organization.

- Undertake focused market research and gather market intelligence.

- Implementation of Forecasting and replenishment systems.

- Oversee overall category plans in the areas of pricing, promotion, assortment and allocation for each sub-category.

- Monitor and review weekly performance of the category.

- Provide consistent direction and support to achieve stretch targets.

- Facilitate cross functional team working.

Preferences :

- Experience and Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding and ambiguous environment

- 10-12 ears of experience in category management or related area

- Person with experience in Ethnic category particularly in womens/mens/kids wear

- Previous experience in retail/ e-commerce.

- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skill
