Roles and Responsibilities - Has good knowledge of global fashion and trends and maintains this by constantly researching this as part of everyday life - Takes accountability for delivering a customer focused and design-led product range, achieved through effective market research, comp shops and inspirational trips - Travels to investigate new sources and new product opportunities - Maintains relationships with existing suppliers and vendors,while seeking new ones - Correctly identifies new trends and new products relevant to the customer base - Works to continuously better the fashion product offering and ensure newness - Develops exclusive product from a design brief with manufacturers, buying houses and factories - Works with vendors and with Head of Design, using vendors design resources where possible, to create fashion credible clothing ranges - Works with Garment Tech to ensures fit and quality adheres to Koovs / international standards - Negotiates prices with vendors - Manages product lead times and the critical path to ensures products are delivered on time - Works with Planner to plan seasonal spend by product type - Ensures the final range delivered is both balanced and appropriate for the time of year - Manages the order raising process and ensures all buying documents are maintained - Helps to interpret reports and to predict future sales - Trades product together with the Planner - Manages repeat buys and cancellations with vendors - Reacts to any changes in customer demand - Interprets feedback from customers - Acquires Press Samples in order to facilitate marketing and promotions - Suggests timings for product launches and promotions and feeds information into Marketing - Regularly audits the available product to ensure it is both well-represented and accurately described - Manages a small team
