Senior Buyer - Hard/Soft Goods - eCommerce (5-7 yrs)

Sr. Buyer - Hard, Soft Goods - US Based eCommerce Giant -Full-time MBA Required.

General Details :

The person should be full-time MBA+ 5 years of experience in buying in eCommerce or offline retail.

Should have experience of soft goods or hard goods as there are 5 openings for this role.

Very strong communication skills as a person have to get in touch with the US office regularly.

1. The location is Kolkata only - no work from home/remote is offered. Relocation assistance is provided for successful applicants.

2) There is a minimum of 20% to 25% variable pay in the total compensation offered.

3) This is a pure Buyer role - does not entail category management, digital marketing, etc.

4) The role is to support our U.S eCommerce operations so all buyers (irrespective of designation) will be working 12 Noon to 10 PM or 11 PM, Monday to Friday.

5) There is an online aptitude test if the applicant meets our requirements and this test is mandatory for all applicants (irrespective of role/designation).

6) Travel to the U.S is based on actual business requirements - there may be frequent travel involved.

7) Every Buyer (irrespective of designation) is an individual contributor and targets are mentioned in the job description.

8) All applicants must be comfortable with a buyer only role/supplier only role.

9) No applicant must have applied to us in the last 12 months.

Please note this is not a category management role.

JOB SUMMARY :

The Buying Team based out of India supports the US team by growing our US supplier network, building relationships, leading negotiations, expanding product assortment through sourcing & selling inventory through its entire life cycle.

Members of this team are required to work closely with our US suppliers and travel frequently to the US.

Strong Communication skills and Business Acumen to drive results is a must.

Work Timings are typically 12 pm - 10 pm, Monday to Friday.

This role has an additional 20% Performance Bonus based on targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Research and evaluate new supplier opportunities

- Acquire and set up new suppliers

- Develop and grow relationships and also negotiate terms of contract at multiple levels with suppliers

- Grow and manage Dollar 40 million+ of business

- Manage sales and margin dollar performance against plan

- Negotiate with suppliers on inventory and purchase orders

- Analyze inventory and sell through targets

- Build strategic 1-2 year plans for each supplier which match Organisation Sales & Profitability targets

Bachelors (MBA Preferred)

5 to 7 years of relevant experience in retail, online or offline.

4+ years negotiation experience

Proficient in Excel

EXPERIENCE : 5- 7 Years

Salary Offered: 18 - 26 LPA
