Senior Associate Vice President - Legal Contracts - BPO/ITeS - LLB/LLM (10-15 yrs)
SAVP - Legal Contracts
Basic Function :
- To assist the Legal Function.
- Should be capable of handling multiple legal assignments and ensuring minimization of legal risks to the organization.
- Meeting deadlines with minimum turnaround time in handling legal matters.
Essential Functions :
Contract Reviews :
- Primary reviewer/negotiator for commercial agreements including client Master Services Agreements, SOWs/Work Orders, Vendor Contracts, Facility Leases, Software License Agreements, Service level agreements, NDAs and RFPs.
- Ensure legal risks are addressed while balancing business needs and objectives.
- Ensure contracts are negotiated within EXL contracting standards while facilitating deal-to-deal specific exceptions and customizations and proactively working with Business team members to creatively solve issues.
- Ability to take ownership of projects and "run with them" to completion.
- Specific Projects: Assist with Special Projects as the need arises to support the business's strategic growth while keeping within the acceptable risk profile.
- Talent Management: Conducting training and awareness sessions on upcoming legal and compliance areas.
- Ensure team engagement; provide team development, orientation, and mentoring. Continue to build and improve processes to minimize team conflicts.
- Excellent skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Ability to leverage contract lifecycle tool and other legal automation apps/ tools
- Must have excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills; extensive experience with US commercial contracts as well as US companies.
- Must have expert understanding of contracts in the Operations Management and Professional Services space
- Should be sincere, very hardworking and a team player. Must be ready to take extra responsibility and lead from the front.
- Should have excellent communication and co-ordination attributes and must be willing to work in a dedicated and diligent manner.
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal daily supervision.
Education Requirements : Graduate/ Post Graduate in Law (L.L.B.) with good academic background
Work Experience Requirements : 10 years of experience; a combination of time with a major law firm as well as in-house experience with a reputable corporation preferred.
