Prior PE experience compulsory

1) Deal origination skills

a. Ability to spot companies looking for funds for generating proprietary deal flow

b. Strong networking with i-bankers for deal sourcing

c. Ability to bond well with i-bankers and promoters

2) Deal evaluation skills

a. Understanding of economic principles and economic cycles

b. Knowledge of competitive environment across various industries

c. Understanding sustainable competitive advantage of potential investee companies

d. Strong grip on financial analysis and ability to pick up window-dressed problems

e. Ability to predict future upsides and potential downsides in the business

f. Strong command over MS Excel to decipher or build financial models

g. Understanding of valuations knowledge of what attracts a premium pricing or discount pricing in stock markets

h. Experience of reading promoter psychology

i. Good listening skills

j. Understanding of legal and regulatory issues including Companies Act, SEBI Rules, Income Tax provisions and contracts act and exposure to litigation / arbitration

3) Deal presentation skills

a. Ability to communicate investment strategy effectively to the fund management team

b. Strong command over PPT and MS Word.

c. Ability of making an investment case in MS Word / PPT format, articulating the reasons for considering the investment and bringing out the risk factors, so as to enable an informed decision on the deals by the investee committee
