Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Business Analysis: Uses deep understanding of objectives, issues and root causes and provides insightful, fact-based data analysis to help solve complex problems. Assists with the creation of financial models, research and analyses of trends, leading indicators and business statistics.
- Utilizes data infrastructure by extracting, aggregating, and dissecting financial data and performance metrics; highlights findings for management review.
- Business Partnering: Partners with Key Stakeholders and Business Partners to align on business priorities and drive effective solutions/execution.
- Constructively communicates compelling arguments based on facts and data and obtains necessary buy-in to deliver on business objectives.
- Builds working relationships with business management and other partners in support of key priorities and objectives through complex analytics.
- Strategic Planning and Initiatives: Supports management to develop strategies and initiatives to drive growth and margin improvements.
- Executes on strategic initiatives such as project launches, market entry, and process improvement efforts.
- Performs research and leverages internal and external data to provide input for business case development.
- Maintains an awareness of general economic, competitive, business and financial conditions.
- Operating Planning and Forecasting: Supports management to create an annual operating plan that is aligned to the strategic plan and performs forecasting to provide visibility into business results to enable business decisions.
- Performs business analysis for the operating planning and forecasting, incorporating guidance received.
- Financial Operational Policy: Establishes and maintains consistent financial operational policies and procedures to govern related practices.
- Complies with all financial operational policies and procedures such as Loss Reporting/Technical Lost Business; recommends modifications as needed
- Talent Development and Management: Deliberately builds capability for short and long term.
- Takes initiative on personal development and works with manager to ensure training requirements are met.
- Shares skills and knowledge with colleagues - helps to develop others, coaches new or more junior associates
- Management Reporting and Financial Close Activities: Produces and distributes recurring and ad hoc management reports.
- Responsible for financial reporting accuracy; partners with shared services organizations and ensures adequate control environment to mitigate financial and business risks in collaboration with process owners.
- Leverages recurring and ad hoc management reporting to identify trends, support business cases and understand opportunities and risks
- Liaison with other functional departments to ensure the quality, accuracy and completeness of the financial reporting disclosures
- Benchmark financial reporting disclosures against competitors
- Develop and utilize various analytical reports to assist with the understanding and validation.
- Accurate and timely delivery of financial information including analyzing and reporting of financial activities.
- Review, research, interpretation and implementation.
- Responsible for coordinating, conducting, and documenting financial reporting activities
- Assist in various projects as key team member that meet ultimate objectives of the team, department and organization.
- Financial modelling, analysis and valuations and due diligence
- Writing information memorandums and Board approval justifications,
- Preparing and delivering management presentations.
- Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of developments in the fields of infrastructure technology, regulations, business, finance and economic theory.
- Monitor fundamental economic, industrial, and corporate developments through the analysis of information obtained from financial publications and services, investment banking firms, government agencies, trade publications, company sources and personal interviews.
- Support the day-to-day efforts of the project teams in financial planning, budgeting and reporting
- Any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management/ Reporting Manager
