Senior Associate/Assistant Manager/Manager/AD - US Tax - Big4 (3-12 yrs)

Job Description:


- Review of Federal tax returns and other informational forms as prescribed by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for US based Investment Partnership Clients (Private Equity (PE), Hedge Fund (HF) etc.)

- Review of Private Equity and Hedge Funds specific Book to Tax analysis, Taxable Income Calculations, and partner allocations. (including an understanding of Hedge Fund revaluation accounts and aggregation.)

- Review of debt vs. equity analysis, UBTI, and other analysis required to compute a private equity fund's taxable income

- Review tax returns and make recommendations regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities.

- Assess tax impact on clients of rules and law changes, develop tax arguments to support conclusions and make recommendations to clients

- Manage a portfolio of Asset Management (FS) clients of varying size and scope and act as the point of contact for internal clients

- Manage client's engagements from start to finish (planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects).

- Managing engagement workflow, engagement team resources, and engagement billing.

- Responsible for monitoring Engagement budgets vs actual hours

- Team with other professionals to identify new marketplace opportunities and grow the KPMG tax practice.

- Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects requiring tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates.

- Responsible for managing 5-12 people in the team

- Responsible for development and performance management of the team.

- Proactively interact with client management team to gather information, resolve tax-related problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements.

- Manage risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections, and the budget for projects

- Strong People leadership skills and leading by example.

- Develop and Enhance personal technical knowledge and understanding of US Business Tax

- Contribute to thought leadership through technical white papers and research on a periodic basis.

- Proficient on Go System and other Tax Compliance tools

- Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel).

- Broad exposure to federal income taxation and knowledge of tax regulations

- Personal drive and positive work ethic to deliver results within tight deadlines and in demanding situations without compromising on quality and ethical standards and values

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong Leadership and personnel management skills, Analytical skills with detail orientation.

- Team player; self-driven and ability to work independently as well as able to motivate team members

- The Tax Senior is responsible for reviewing trust, partnership, and corporate tax returns, preparing complex tax returns; and assisting in reporting and MIS activities.

- Support Service implementations from start to finish (planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects).

- Supervise and train staff and New Joiners on tax projects.

- Conduct Quality Reviews of returns prepared by staff.

- Proactively interact with key client engagement team to gather information and resolve tax- related problems

- Gain understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives. Perform other job-related duties as necessary
