We are hiring for leading Investment Bank Analyst And Sr Associates at Mumbai.

The successful candidate will join Global Research Center (GRC) in Mumbai. The GRC in Mumbai is a full research office working with Equities Research, Fixed Income Research, Commodities Research, Rates Research and Equity Quant Research. It also handles various critical functions such as Research Distribution, Global Data Services, Modeling and Risk Management.

The candidate will be part of the Global Economics Team to cover global economic developments, with a particular focus on market-driving events and themes. The Global Economics Team currently has four team members (3 in New York, 1 in London).

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

- Developing (and maintaining) quantitative models for nowcasting, forecasting, simulation and other types of analysis of macroeconomic developments in various regions and globally

- Collecting, processing and analysing economic, financial, social and political data from a variety of databases and using a variety of methodologies

- Contribute to developing ideas for topics as well as specific approaches to address topics of interest in a rigorous and usually quantitative manner

- Presenting and summarising data, insights or relevant literature in a structured and concise manner for external publication as well as internal use

- Contributing towards maintaining and developing marketing materials, in particular presentations and Research publications.

- Other ad hoc tasks or projects, including handling bespoke requests from clients

- Presenting to Bank Research's internal and external clients

- Working closely with Banks global team of economists and support staff to deliver the publication and presentation of research in a variety of printed and electronic formats.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Master's Degree in Economics or allied disciplines is required.

Experience:

- Minimum of 3-5 years relevant work (including research) experience in a data-intensive environment in economics, preferably in a financial institution or a policy institution.

- Experience in working with quantitative (in particular macroeconometric) models.

- Experience in collecting, processing and analysing data in a largely self-directed manner.

- Demonstration of an understanding and enthusiasm for economic, political economy and market analysis.

Certifications -Skills:

- Demonstrated understanding of / strong interest in core economic concepts and methodologies.

- Familiarity with macroeconomic and financial concepts and major economic databases.

- Very good working knowledge of applied statistical and macro econometric techniques (notably in time series econometrics)

- The ability to collect, manage, handle and analyze data and databases efficiently and rigorously.

- Ability to carry out qualitative research, including literature searches and summaries, informed evaluation of results and an intelligent read of the press and other media.

- High degree of comfort with statistical software (e.g. EViews, Stata, Matlab, R) and of MS office applications.

Other-Competencies:

- Very strong quantitative skills

- Efficiency and speed in carrying out tasks.
