Senior Analyst - Real Estate Debt Underwriter - Investment Bank

We have a role with one of the leading Investment Bank in Mumbai for Real Estate Debt Underwriter

Responsibilities:

- Assist senior deal managers/originators in sourcing and underwriting prospective real estate debt investments, including whole loans, subordinate notes and CMBS transactions.

- Assist Asset Manager in underwriting and managing existing portfolio of ~ $2.5B of mortgage and related investments.

- Conducting periodic credit reviews for the loans in the portfolio and suggesting internal rating changes.

- Continuous surveillance, monitoring and tracking of watch-list and special assets in the portfolio

- Analysis of the market spreads and prices for all sectors within the Fixed Income

- Underwriting and periodic reviews of niche market of Co-operative apartment's within New-York city

- Assist in making client books and pitch-books.

Qualifications:

- A minimum of 3 years experience with an institutional real estate investor or lender with responsibility for real estate underwriting.

- MBA or equivalent.

- Strong analytical skills. Ability to model complex financial structures

- Knowledge of fundamental real estate cash flow and valuation analysis for office, industrial, retail and multifamily sectors.

- Ability to evaluate real estate markets and sub-markets in terms of supply and demand dynamics and the positioning of the subject property within them. Experience researching and selecting comparable sale and lease transactions via on-line data sources including; REIS, Real Capital Analytics, etc.

- Ability to review and analyze various legal documents including; mortgages, notes, participation and/or inter-creditors agreements, leases, entity organizational documents, etc.

- Ability to review and analyze third party reports including engineering, environmental and appraisal reports.

- Highly organized, diligent and detail oriented.

- Strong project management skills to manage a large volume of workflow.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and manage relationships with team members, servicers, back office, and mortgage bankers.

- Proficient in Argus property/portfolio modeling software.

- Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

- Experience must demonstrate that the candidate has all of the skills listed above.
