Position Title : Senior Quantitative Research Analyst

Work Location : Mumbai

Position reporting to : Head of Fundamental Research

No. of Direct Reports : Team of Research Associates

Job Purpose :

- Identify profitable investment opportunities and measure risk against reward in the Capital Markets domain through Quantitative, mathematical and statistical methods to analyse financial and risk management scenarios. 

- Financial modelling (Data Modelling, Model Validation, Model Development and Model Monitoring)

Key Responsibilities :

Managerial Responsibilities :

- Attract and retain talent within the team

- Scale-up the quant research capabilities of the associates

- Mentoring the associates towards improving overall relevance and quality of quant research

Functional Responsibilities :

- Build a corporate image as a trusted equities house/partner for the companies under coverage and key individuals in client organizations

- Communicating effectively, both in written and oral form - forecasts and views on analysed sectors

- Interacting with external and internal stakeholders and facilitating their decision making

- Come out with timely actionable ideas to generate revenues for the firm

- Ensuring that financial models are precise and robust to capture the various nuances and complexities of the sector dynamics

- Providing actionable ideas on stocks under coverage, given a certain change in the business environment

Job Requirements :

Qualifications :
 
Graduate/PostGraduate with specialisation in Statistics

Work Experience : 8 - 12 years

Functional Competencies :

- Aptitude for research, especially understanding of business models and converting the same into effective/dynamic financial models

- Holistic perspective with an eye for detail

- Ability to understand as well as communicate complex business developments in a simple and lucid manner

- Understanding of the financial markets and interplay of all the factors impacting Indian equity markets
