Senior Analyst - Investments - Consulting Firm (4-8 yrs)

Position Summary:

The clients' senior analyst will be responsible for supporting and leading critical elements of the investment evaluation process for the fund, including assessing potential new investment opportunities, analysis for follow on financings, and exit transactions for current portfolio companies.

Responsibilities include supporting the development of an investment case from the market and competitive analysis through detailed financial modelling of growth potential and performance for entrepreneurial companies. Working as a core part of the Fund's investment team, the professional will be actively involved in all areas of venture capital investing and portfolio company management. The job will also entail developing proprietary investment frameworks along with the leadership team. More details are provided in

Scope of work:

Assessments of both new and follow-on investment opportunities:

- Identify and evaluate potential new investments in a wide variety of sectors

- Track and manage a pipeline of new potential investments

- Develop detailed financial models and projections to enable and support investment decision making

- Perform market research and competitive analysis

- Draft investment cases and business plans to support the process of making new investments

Due diligence and investment documentation for both new and follow- on investments:

- Conduct due diligence on potential investment opportunities

- Manage the process of deal diligence & documentation

- Collaborate with legal counsel & other service providers to manage investment to closing

Analysis to support existing portfolio company growth and exit:

- Work alongside the client's investment professionals serving on portfolio company Boards as well as directly with Senior Management Teams of the client's portfolio companies on specific strategic initiatives

- Support portfolio company follow on fundraising or strategic partnership development by assisting with investor presentations, drafting business plans and strategic plans

Financial Reporting:

- Support Principal, Partners and CFO on monthly financial assessment of portfolio companies through analysis of key financial and business metrics

- Update fund model tracking capital deployed and reserves available for new and follow on investments

- Manage production of quarterly reports to Limited Partners

Skills Required:

- Good communication skills (written & oral)

- Analytical, creative problem solver with a strong quantitative background

- Ability to break down complex problems in simple algorithmic thinking

- Experience in analysing technology companies, sectors & preparing large financial documents

- Deep understanding of technology start-up & investment ecosystem

- Strong IQ & EQ, as work will entail working with smart founders with varied personalities

- Experience of working with a tier 1 VC or PE fund is a significant advantage

- Ace Microsoft Excel skills

- 3- 5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, strategic corporate development (M&A), venture capital or private equity investing or management consulting

- Experience in entrepreneurial environments and the flexibility to work in both highly structured corporate settings and less structured start- up environments

- The collaborative thinker who works well in teams and is also an independent, self- starter 

- Bachelor- s/Master's degree with a strong record of academic achievement

- Entrepreneurial experience will be valued
