Senior Analyst - Financial Modeling/Qualitative Research (Qual) / Quantitative Research (Quant)]

Job Description : 

Our client is a leading provider of financial research, data analytics and platform data ingestion services to financial services firms globally. The company works with the leading investment banks, private equity funds and quantitative/systematic funds to provide support across the full spectrum of idea generation, research support and data management services.

Mandatory Skills:

I. for Financial modeling:

1. Experience in building, auditing/reviewing, managing, and updating financial models

2. Hands-on experience on various valuation techniques (DCF and market-based approach)

3. Exposure of attending analysts calls and summarizing transcripts and call

4. Analyzing financial statements and companies

II. for Qual:

1. Comprehensive company profiling

2. In-depth industry/market/sector analysis

3. Market sizing, value chain analysis, SWOT analysis, and Porter analysis

4. Consulting skillset, i.e., ability to think through company strategy, etc.

5. Competitive benchmarking and opportunity assessments through secondary research

6. Writing reports summarizing the analysis for advisory/research-driven clients

7. Ad hoc, time-sensitive, and short turnaround research assignments

8. Basic financial analysis and financial ratios analysis

9. Understanding of global capital raising, investment, and wealth management

10. mechanism (through various asset classes)

III. for Quant:

1. Same skills as Qualitative research profile

2. Experience or knowledge of Relative Valuation (Trading & Transaction Comps)

Roles and Responsibilities:

I. for Financial modeling:

1. Market sizing, value chain analysis, Trends & Drivers, Regulations, Competitive benchmarking and Porter analysis

2. Writing reports summarizing the analysis for advisory/research-driven clients

3. Working on research projects that include valuation analysis, company profiles, M&A case studies, pitch books, ad-hoc research, and short turnaround research assignments

4. Working on trading and transaction comparable analyses (hand spread and databases)

5. Analyzing financial statements and companies

6. Strong communications skills

II. for Qual / Quant:

1. Build models (including valuation) from scratch, update for earnings, and audit/review the models

2. Attend analysts and conference calls and take notes to update the models

3. Strong working knowledge of accounting and financial concepts

4. Knowledge of MS-Excel (complex formulae and calculations), MS-Word, and MS-PowerPoint

5. Exposure of using various research databases like Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Factset, Factiva, Thomson will be an added advantage
