Job Summary :

- Your role will be to support the legal teams based in APAC, EMEA, and US with respect to the financial products transactions are undertaken by the Bank Group globally by drafting and negotiating the mid and high complexity contracts and other legal documentation.

- You will spend a significant amount of your time drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and producing documents, relating to these transactions and your role will involve you liaising directly with the front office and the

- Bank Group's diverse client base. In your role, you would be responsible for delivery, process, people and client management. You would have to ensure high quality of drafts and negotiations, identify the gaps and bridge the gaps with training, innovative and out-of-box thinking. You would also be responsible for building capability and capacity within the system that encourages an SME culture and environment.

Primary Responsibilities :

- Drafting and negotiating amongst others, ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support documents, Global Master Repurchase Agreements, Master Netting Agreements, Prime Brokerage Agreements, Executing Brokerage

Agreements, Futures and Options Agreements, Cash Trading Agreements, Securities Lending Agreements and all other relevant documentation and subsequent amendments, Marketing Materials, Distribution Agreements, NDAs.

- Reviewing constitutional documents and ensuring that all requisite corporate consents and approvals are in place prior to finalization of agreements and subsequent trading.

- Liaising and coordinating with the Risk Division of bank and other internal departments as necessary. Additionally, to input client and contract data into bank systems and update when required.

- Assisting in special projects such as contracts review and contracts abstraction.

- Front-line resolution of escalated business specific issues across assigned project areas.

- Building a strong relationship with the client, understanding their needs and business operations and working very closely with clients to improve their satisfaction.

- Understanding business and regulatory requirements and ensuring functions are being performed in those requirements.

- Managing a team of lawyers/professionals, providing training and guidance to others on the team in relation to work, performance, and development.

- Leading knowledge management process and culture.

- Reasonable understanding of MIS to building capability and capacity within the system and domain.

- Tracking progress through periodic performance benchmarking exercise.

- Creating a motivated team that has clarity of goals and career path.

- Constantly finding ways and means to improving the efficiency, productivity of the team members.

- Building redundancy and doing succession planning.

- Identifying and developing high performers.

Primary Working Relationships :

- The resource will report to the AVP.

- The position also interacts with offshore and onshore personnel daily.

Job Requirements :

- Law Degree or Commonwealth qualified solicitor or barrister with 4 to 9 years year of PQE in financial products or commercial contracts drafting and negotiations.(Previous capital markets or general corporate experience gained in a law firm or in-house will be an advantage.)

- Strong problem solving and/or analytical skills.

- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Strong legal principals.

- Ability to forge a strong relationship with internal departments.

- Ability to read complex legal documents with confidence, ease, and understanding.
