Senior Analyst - Accounting Policy - Global Investment & Technology Development Firm - CA/CPA (2-3 yrs)

Job Description:

1. The candidate will be part of Firm's Accounting function and will regularly interact with U.S.- and Hyderabad-based teams, as well as external parties.

2. The candidate will prepare accounting memorandums for assessment of various transactions undertaken, including project acquisitions, equity infusions, funding re-sizing, and reorganizations. These assessments include business combinations, leasing, revenues, debt classification, embedded derivatives etc.

3. The candidate will work cross-functionally with other groups to foresee potential accounting issues and recommend practical solutions associated with contemplated business transactions. This will require monitoring business activities, ensuring timely identification of accounting and financial reporting matters, and preparing high-quality accounting memorandums for senior management and external auditors.

4. The candidate will also analyze new and proposed accounting standards and determine the impact on the company; they will work to implement new accounting standards, as required. This will include preparation and review of corporate accounting policies and procedures.

5. The candidate will participate in both formal and informal reviews with project accountants to ensure financial statement disclosures are complete and accurate, and they will assist with new accounting initiatives and special projects as needed.

The ideal candidate should be/have:

1. A Chartered Accountant/Certified Public Accountant qualification, with two to three years of Big 4 public accounting experience in the technical accounting practice, who can work independently with limited direction and guidance.

2. A robust understanding of U.S. GAAP and FASB codification and pronouncements, as well as the ability to clearly and concisely document and effectively communicate complex accounting and reporting issues to finance and non-finance personnel.

3. Experience in the energy, real estate, or financial services sector would be an advantage. Highly effective written and spoken communication skills are required, along with an ability to develop strong partnerships and influence people. Understanding of financial agreements and contracts, such as credit and equity investment agreements is a must
