Job Title - Assistant Finance Controller

Location- Mumbai

Purpose of the Role :

The purpose of this role is to execute the day to day running of our clients, an Australian MNC in the medical device sector, accounting function in compliance with India GAAP and sound governance principles to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance and commercial operations.

Duties & Responsibilities :

1) Sales and Receivables Management :

- Receivables Management: Manage credit limits, AR metrics and analyses

- Create region-wise collection targets, get approval from CFO and pass it on.

- Track weekly progress against target and provide info for weekly meetings.

- Implement real-time receivables management and reporting to Sales staff [eg daily emails for customer payments received; weekly analysis on DSO trend by sales person, flag off slow/non-paying accounts

- Run monthly customer statements: email to PSs, BMs and Customers and courier to customers as needed

- Generate invoices in Oracle

- Generate credit notes in Oracle

- Call atleast 6-10 customers a day and firm up their payment plan

- Update receipts tracker for all money received.

- Apply cash in Oracle.

2) Manage South Asia Distributors

- Ensure that all Distributor agreements are current and signed

- Flag off agreements for renewal atleast 3 months prior to expiry

- Coordinate with APAC to have these renewed

- Monitor Distributor performance:

- Perform financial, regulatory audits of distributors at agreed frequency [say quarterly]

- Assist in operational audit of distributors

- Provide quarterly performance reports on distributor performance i.e.

- Expected sales vs. actual

- Any operational issues faced

- Any financial issues faced

3) Support the SFA in ensuring accurate and timely Financial Accounting

- Maintain the company's Fixed Asset Register for Audit and Tax purposes, and all other accounting records including monthly computation and filing of Direct and indirect taxes

- Prepare the groundwork for timely completion of GL reconciliations, detailed review of reconciling items and prompt clearance

- Establishing, maintaining, and coordinating the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.

4) Support the SFA in ensuring compliance with statutory, secretarial and tax reporting requirements

- Prepare the groundwork and assist with the maintenance of the company minute book with maintenance of proper board minutes and associated resolutions. Maintain Secretarial records and ensuring they are in accordance with the Statute.

- Filing returns and payments of periodical indirect and direct taxes

- Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.

- Assist with all audits (Statutory, Internal, VAT, CST, Service Tax, Quality Audits etc.), and development and maintenance of process documents/manuals.

Key Incumbent requirements :

Minimum :

- CA with 2-4 years of post-qualification experience in independent Financial Accounting in an MNC in India

- Proven ability in trouble shooting and problem solving

- Very strong compliance and conformance with policies

- Proactive stakeholder management ability

- Good team skills

- Hands-on experience of having worked with an ERP

Ideal :

- Oracle experience

- Exposure to the Asia Pacific business environment

Salary - Up to 75k - 1 lac per month for the right candidate

Location - Dadar Office or BKC Office, Mumbai
