Samsung - Smartphone Product Planning Manager (3-11 yrs)
Role:
As a Manager Product Planning, you need to understand the Smartphone and Other Smart Devices market along with key consumer needs, Key buying factors, & current competition landscape. S/He will be responsible for building competitive Product Line-up including market-first customer offerings fitting well with Indian consumer needs.
The owner will need to demonstrate business judgement in evaluating trade-offs between cost & features balancing with consumer & market need. S/He need to be top on smartphone market data, competition movement, & on-ground feedback of consumers about various smartphone products.
Responsibilities:
- Development of Mid to long term Product roadmap for Galaxy portfolio.
- Defining the core specifications & features basis targeted product strategy & inline with consumer & market needs
- Conducting deep consumer researches (Online & Offline) to identify key consumer needs, preferences & behavior.
- Analyze big data to understand & generate insights on consumer usage & preferences
- Deep market sales data analysis and generating the actionable insights to be competitive in market
- Tracking upcoming competition launches & new technologies from various sources (websites/portals, etc.) both India & global markets for smartphone category
- Gather market, competition & consumer information about new launch product by reviewing blogger videos, consumer reviews, launch events.
- Market visits to take feedback/suggestion from channel partners about new & running models, consumer VOC (Likes/Dislikes), etc.
- Performing analysis on Excel & tools for smartphone sales, usage, online sales events, etc.
- Discussion and follow up with local R&D center for new hardware & software features understanding & implementation, tracking development
- Build credibility and strong working relationships with decision-makers to persuade them to explore new line-up/price segment opportunities
Required qualifications & experience:
- 4+ Years of experience in product management, planning or marketing in top product companies
- 4-8 years of overall experience with min. 4 years of post MBA/MS/B.Tech experience (focus on business/product with a strong understanding of technology)
- MBA/B.Tech/MS/MCA from a reputed institute
