Job Summary:

The Chief Executive Officer is expected to provide leadership for all aspects of the Biomass Energy business including running day to day operations and driving the expansion through projects with an emphasis on achieving long-term goals, business growth, target profitability, and return on investment. The ideal candidate for this position has previous senior leadership experience in a professional corporate setting and has a proven track record of performance, effective all-round leadership and team management skills and is results-driven.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Take ownership and run the overall business in all its aspects - including overall operations, business growth/expansion through organic and inorganic means, business strategy and building a high performance team

- Leads from the front and directs the business toward its primary goals and objectives.

- Building and nurturing a high performance executive executive leadership team.

- Work closely with promoter group to define an ambitious yet achievable growth oriented vision for the business

- Build and leads a team of highly motivated executives to Drive the business forward and realize the defined vision in a time-bound manner

- Promotes communication and cooperation among divisions to create a spirit of unity in the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Define the vision and strategy -

- Works with the board of directors and other executives to establish short-term objectives and long-range goals, and related plans and policies.

- Shape, drive and monitor the business

- Leads from the front and drives the business team on all necessary actions to realize the mission and vision of the organization.

- Regularly reviews business operations and performance

- Takes concrete actions to run a high performance power plant operations setting industry benchmarks

- Presents regular reports on the status of the business operations to the board of directors and to company staff.

- Build a high performance team and work culture -

- Build a strong, capable, highly motivated leadership team to run the business

- Work closely with Human Resources (HR) to build a high performance culture across the organization and steer key HR topics regarding hiring practices, payroll and benefits

- Oversee quality control throughout the company, establishing goals for each department in partnership with division/functional managers

- Ensure financial performance and the right capital structure -

- Work closely with the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) to prepare annual budgets, complete risk analysis on potential investments, and advise the Board of Directors with regard to investment risk and return

- Oversees the organization's financial structure, ensuring adequate and sound funding for the mission and goals of the company.

- Reviews the financial results of all operations, comparing them with the company's objectives and taking appropriate measures to correct unsatisfactory performance and results.

- Drive business growth -

- Drive organic growth - steer capital investments and projects to realize the stated vision for the business

- Negotiates with other companies regarding actions such as mergers, acquisitions, or joint ventures.

- Manage stakeholder relationships -

- Serves as the company's representative to the board of directors, shareholders, employees, customers, the government, and the public.

- Represent the company as required, including attendance of important functions, industry events and public meetings

- Ensures the company's compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and standards.

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Excellent managerial and financial skills and the ability to take leadership over any business operations area.

- Superlative communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate as a leader.

- Thorough understanding of management and financial practices in all areas and phases of business operations.

- Strong ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly

- Leadership skills, including the ability to manage time effectively and handle both internal and external conflicts

Deep understanding of power sector operations, regulatory landscape and stakeholders involved

Education & Experience:

- Bachelor's in Engineering from from IITs/NITs

- Management qualifications from top tier business schools (IIMs or world's top institutions)

- 10 years of corporate leadership experience of which 5 years as CXO/CEO of a business

- Experience in the power sector with exposure to capital projects, operations and maintenance of sophisticated power plants - either in an operating company or as OEM to power sector
