Leading Singapore-based hedge fund manager is seeking a Legal & Compliance Officer to join its expanding team in Mumbai. The firm manages private investment funds with capital invested in macro themes in the Asia-Pacific region and is also establishing a dedicated investment management business in India. This position provides a unique opportunity to be fully immersed in the legal and compliance aspects of running a top-tier asset management firm and also taking a core role in developing the firm's India platform.

Key responsibilities include:

- Working closely with the Legal & Compliance team on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues impacting the business

- Advising senior management and business teams on applicable international and Indian laws and regulations

- Drafting and reviewing investment fund offering documents, trading agreements (including ISDAs/GMRAs/PBAs), marketing documents and vendor contracts

- The potential to be involved in negotiating and executing structured debt transactions

- Preparing regulatory filings and developing compliance solutions for new regulations

The ideal candidate will have:

- A law degree

- Minimum 2 years of experience in the legal/compliance division of an asset manager or investment bank

- Excellent verbal and written skills in English

- Strong organisational skills and a keen attention to detail

- Have a growth and ownership mindset and a team player attitude
