About the Role Your role as a Senior Legal Counsel will require you to draft, review and negotiate agreements, renewals, addendums pertaining to litigation matters. Provide legal advice and guidance to business heads and other stakeholders. This role will require you to interact with sales, finance, pilot engagement and business teams. This role would report to CFO. What You'll Do 1. To provide professional legal advice, strategy and risk management through knowledge experience and help develop compliance systems and processes for all operations and all areas of the business in India in conjunction with functional and business leaders in the countries and with appointed external legal advisors. 2. To provide and set strategic direction, sound balanced legal advice on a wide range of corporate commercial matters. Accountability for corporate compliance and legal issues. Oversight for various legal regulatory affairs related matters. 3. To work with the internal stakeholders and lead the drafting, vetting and reviewing business contracts, including services agreement, RFQs, Lease Agreements, employment contracts etc. 4. To act as a counsellor for business team members. 5. To advise on employment related issues e.g. termination, severance, mutual separation, outsourcing arrangements, employment templates. 6. To be actively involved in managing litigation and ensure that Company's interest is protected. To advise and assist the business partners in negotiations with third parties and to assist as appropriate in concluding settlements. 7. Identifying work to be outsourced, selection and management of external lawyers, their fee arrangements and service levels. When the event requires the appointment of external lawyers, manage and liaise with them. 8. To ensure that all material legal and compliance related issues are approved by in accordance with policies and guidelines. 9. To coordinate and work with the senior leadership team and Board Members on critical subject matter. 10. To work with CFO and Internal Audit Team to drive compliance in India including driving compliance trainings and initiatives in India. What We Need Education: Bachelor degree in Law from a renowned university Years of experience: - 8-10 years of experience in contract management, litigation management and managing statutory compliances Professional Attributes: - Good drafting and communication skills, court exposure, contacts with lawyers - Should have the ability to build very positive and close client working relationships - Self-motivator, flexible and able to work at pace - Work with positive spirit and discipline - Fast and smart decision making is critical, has the required agility and flexibility - Strong leader - Peoples person Personal attributes: - Persistent with a high sense of ownership - Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with a closure mindset - Demonstrate ability to work in a fast paced, hyper-normal growth environment - Strong verbal and written communication
