Risk Reporting & Data Quality Role - Credit Risk (2-13 yrs)

Knowledge/Skills :

- Good knowledge of SAS and SQL.

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, open minded, flexible, pragmatic

- Knowledge of VBA would be an added advantage

- Prior exposure to wholesale business would be beneficial.

Qualifications :

Masters in any of the following numeric discipline

- Engineering (or B-tech with relevance experience)

- Stats/Maths

- Economics

- MS / MBA in Finance

- CA/ICWA (Inter)

Experience :

- Minimum 2-12 years with relevant professional experience in a financial services or consulting firm

- Experience in credit risk management preferably wholesale/commercial.

- An experience of US/Canada financial industry is preferred.

Role Dimensions :

- Produce and support Wholesale Credit Risk reporting & analysis including: Portfolio monitoring, the identification of and setting controls for Concentrations of Credit, the production of periodic & ad hoc MI, written commentary for Risk Committee papers and presentations, Audit, Regulatory, and Group response support, specialized & event driven analysis, and the development and build out of risk system architecture.

- Work on ad-hoc requests from onshore business partners to provide data, report and analysis based on business and Senior Management requirements.

- Prepare the monthly inputs for the Risk Management Committee meetings and Board committee meetings.

- Assist credit and the wholesale businesses by providing accurate and useful risk management tools.

- Regularly manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.

- Identifies measures and controls credit risk throughout the institution by participating in credit risk projects.

- Understand Credit Policy, procedures and guidelines to account for changing regulatory, economic and political environments. Analyses related reports to manage risk.

- The role would demand good knowledge and understanding of business, risk, regulatory capital, policy implications or picking these up fast on the job.

- Independently managing the stakeholders.

- The working hours for the role would be in afternoon shift as role supports HBCA and would require some overlap with stakeholders in North America region

Impact on the Business / Function

- Prepare and provide Regional and country risk team with various regulatory and portfolio reporting in order to meet internal and external deadlines

- Collecting, checking, reconciling and reporting of data throughout the group including risk teams, site leads, ASP FIN and other units.

- Coordinate with various business and functional units to complete data gathering or any other detail as needed

- Be responsible for the quality of data used for input into regulatory and portfolio reports by addressing any data inconsistencies found in the validation process

- Support the regional and in country reporting by providing data analysis such as period on period comparisons and quality explanations

- Be the first point of contact in answer baseline questions from internal stakeholders and participating in resolution of more complex issues discovered.

- Take ownership of the assigned process and address the questions by liaising with the existing area experts.

- Maintain strong and open working relations with stakeholders through proactive engagement and service excellence as well as working with stakeholders and partners to identify issues and possible resolution actions

- Ensure efficient and productive team working across function and business boundaries

- Manage own workload and update progress with minimal prompting and supervision

- Share knowledge and good practices with colleagues and internal customers

- Demonstrate strong leadership skills by actively supporting junior staff on the team
