We are looking for a Director, Engineering who can help us build a robust and scalable architecture for rewards and commerce platform powered by data-driven intelligence.

Responsibilities :

- Manage a team of engineering managers, engineering leads. Hire, train and nurture a talented team of technical leads and developers.

- Drive efficiency and ownership in the Development and DevOps team. Have a constant dialogue about their aspirations and share prompt, clear and actionable feedback about performance.

- Plan out and detail end to end technical delivery roadmap along with the CPO/CEO.

- Put a design/architecture of a scalable and secure platform that can be easily customised and personalised.

- Define the technical stack and best practices for technical delivery.

- Deliver engineering infrastructure and product launches of significant complexity that have significant customer impact.

- Provide engineering execution excellence, as well as technical vision and direction, to ensure the development team is aligned with the strategy of the company. Go deeper at an execution/programming/coding level to deliver high quality and highly scalable product and platform as and when required.

- Manage blueprint and implementation of data pipelines and data lake for the product(s) and platform(s).

- Continuously bring innovative prototypes while working with the product/business team to keep the organisation on top of the technology innovation curve.

Requirements :

- Must be a hands-on leader i.e. if required should be able to roll-up his/her sleeves and get down to code-level details.

- B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science. 8+ years of experience in building cutting edge products on cloud infrastructure. 15+ years of experience in the industry.

- People management experience of 7+ years. Experience in managing customers and customer expectations from the product/platform.

- Experience in developing large scale cloud-based enterprise software/platform for B2B/B2C companies.

- Strong understanding of web/mobile development technology stack - MEAN/MERN, PWA etc.

- Proven ability in system design/architecture and building scalable systems and teams.

- Experience in a Hyperlocal / Internet / E-Commerce environment will be preferred but not mandatory.

- A good understanding of micro-services, micro frontend design and architecture is a must.

- Strong understanding of different cloud hosting offerings - GCP/AWS is required.

- Experience with Big Data stack is preferred but not mandatory.

- Must have experience in setting up a team from scratch as well as the outsourced development process.

- Entrepreneurs working in the role of CTO/equivalent for startups will be preferred but it is not mandatory.
