Revenue Accounting Specialist - Telecom (5-8 yrs)
Job Profile -
- Continually assess reporting requirements for existing and new product and service offerings and coordinate the implementation of the same in the various reporting systems to ensure accurate and representative reporting as per IFRS 15
- Work and manage tasks as a functional expert with external consultants / IT technical experts in streamlining the systems used for revenue reporting purposes and bring about automation in place of manual workarounds.
- Identify and close the gaps in the reporting systems with regards to revenue recognition to be fully compliant with IFRS 15 including deferred revenue reconciliation differences identified
- Analyze revenue streams to further break down into suitable accounting heads or categories including any intermediary computations such as discounts, adjustments etc. that have to be allocated on a relevant basis
- Prepare relevant disclosures related to revenue reporting for financial reporting purposes including deferred revenue reconciliations breakdown and analysis
Desired Profile -
- 5 - 7 years- accounting and reporting experience in a large organization or audit / consultancy firm.
- Telecom revenue accounting experience preferred.
- Specific experience in basis/criteria for revenue accounting and recognition under IFRS 15
- Specific project management experience around reporting requirements and implementation
- Analytical skills in assessing revenue reporting requirements for product and service offerings
- Systems knowledge with some project management experience to interact with technical experts for revenue reporting purposes
- Detail oriented and reconciliations skills to assess gaps in current revenue reporting and bring about changes and streamlined reporting
