Their vision is to organise the food and grocery ecosystem in India using technology, data science and design. They are building products, platforms and services for the next billion people of India, who have fundamentally different needs - access, language, selection, supply chain, financial, cultural, and the like. Their market potential is huge - in the order of hundreds of billions of dollars. They have a strong core team consisting of alumni from Stanford, CMU, IIT, BITS etc. having several years of industry experience in companies like Amazon, Flipkart, eBay, BCG, Housing, ITC and Grofers. Role - The scope of the role on the retail front includes (but not limited to): - Monitor store category sales mix - Supervise physical inventory and identify inventory allocation strategies (planogramming) - Identify trends in sales and monitoring the timing and scope of seasonal changes - Maintain desired inventory levels and the assortment - Help identify new product selection for the store to achieve desired outcomes - Schedule deliveries and oversee the shipping, receiving and warehousing of merchandise - Develop supply strategies that will minimize stock-outs while maximizing inventory turns. - Provide guidance about selling patterns, the timing of future purchases, and purchasing philosophies and minimize pilferage and wastage - Work, analyze, evaluate, and generate insights on how the users are interacting with our products and factor that into our pricing/merchandising models - Design experiments to answer targeted questions. Conduct exploratory data analysis in high dimensions - Build business cases and models to quantify new opportunities, using data and solid business judgment - Organize and present data on Retail Metrics to drive profitability, sales, customer experience and other such retail objectives - Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and share actionable insights to drive outcomes Requirements The company is looking for leaders at all levels who have the hunger to work with some of the smartest people, who are driven by a sense of purpose, and who wish to leave a legacy in their respective domains and among their professional fraternity. An ideal candidate for this role is someone who has- - 1-3 years of professional experience in an analytical role - Experience in Consumer-facing sectors - Retail/ FMCG preferred - An undergraduate/post-graduate degree from a Tier-1 college. A bachelor's degree in Statistics or other quantitative disciplines such as Engineering, Applied Mathematics, etc from IIT/NIT/BITS/IISc is preferred - Experience working with large data sets. Thorough knowledge of SQL, and top data mining softwares+data viz tools like Tableau software - Very hands-on experience in Python/R to mine large scale data is preferred - Ability to draw conclusions from data and recommend actions.
