Research Analyst We are building our Research Analyst team at Matrix Partners India. This is a Pre MBA program and let you work closely with the Matrix Partners India investment and leadership team to find and back India's best startups. Location- Delhi/ Bangalore Sector specific & firm wide responsibilities: - Thesis/ Global Trends - Ongoing & Short Term Scope - Spot global trends for investments & simultaneously help portfolio companies with insights - Track early stage investments in your sector to help form thesis pipeline - Review filing docs of global IPOs - Share learnings from successful global startups in your sector - Assist in preparation of sector thesis incl. key diligence question - Long Term Scope - Independently lead a thesis document end-to-end in an emerging sub-sector - Publish content (blogs, LI posts) with investment team members Sourcing support - companies : - Leverage secondary data to build pipeline of deal opportunities in multiple sectors - Prioritize "standout" opportunities using judgement/criteria - Own & manage sector pipeline on internal CRM Networking support : - Create list of high quality executives using Linkedin every quarter - Update list of relevant nodes periodically Due Diligence : - Assist with secondary research (analyst reports, industry reports, market scans, market sizing) to build viewpoints on deal opportunities - Conduct in-depth due diligence for potential deals (primary & secondary) - Analyse Indian & global competitive landscape Portfolio support : - Present sector themes by analysing benchmarks from portfolio companies - Assisting with preparation of annual and quarterly investor pitch decks - Share relevant research and insights from articles, reports, Investor Prezos Qualifications & Skill Set : - Bachelor's degree and academic excellence - 1-3 years of quantitative and qualitative research experience - Consulting experience is preferred - Experience in deal sourcing & due diligence is a plus - Proficient with Excel, and PowerPoint - Should not be an MBA- This is a Pre MBA program Qualities : - Interest in the start-up ecosystem - Analytical & strategic thinking - Capable of independent thinking & problem solving - Intellectual curiosity - Research orientation
