Research Analyst - Government & Economic Development

Work with project team members to understand, refine and prioritize their research needs

- Identify and determine the most appropriate, cost effective and timely research solutions to meet needs

- Gather information using a broad spectrum of sources

- Organize, analyze and synthesize the findings into targeted, firm-formatted end products-including single exhibits, written summaries, basic fact packs, and spread-sheets, utilizing standard financial concepts, ratios and calculations

- Build and develop knowledge in one or more - spikes- (e.g. Public policy, National strategy, Economic policies) and tap into the firm wide network, where available

- Develop basic fact packs and summaries to build your expertise, and be assigned portions of larger documents in your area of focus

- Actively contribute to firm's responsibilities and processes (Global Coordination, SER, initiatives) while being operationally diligent and effective

- Solid understanding of a specific content area and its salient issues form the basis for advancement at more senior levels of the Global Research career path Organizational environment

Research skills : 

- Request scoping/problem solving: Good investigative problem-solving skills

- Ability to help refine and focus project team requests and objectives

- Numerical/Financial skills: Good understanding of standard financial calculations, ratios and concepts and general business concepts and terminology 

- Research output: Excellent skills in synthesizing data into Firm-accepted formats to produce structured exhibits and spreadsheets and extracting key points from research

- Research dissemination: Proactiveness in sharing knowledge with co- workers and project teams, based on opportunities

- Source knowledge: Solid source knowledge in area of expertise(Government and International organizations), if relevant; understanding of source quality, and use of possible proxies

- Industry/functional knowledge: Solid understanding of the landscape of area of expertise like Government/Economic policies & development or policy frameworks or Government transformations. Knowledge of sources providing Government information, comparative macro-economic stats, socio and economic policies is required.

Requirements - Education: Master's in relevant topic like Economics, Public policy,

International Trade or MBA or any relevant post-graduate degree from a reputed institute

- Experience: 1.5-3yrs relevant business research experience with demonstrated involvement in discrete research-type projects

- Bachelor's in Economics will be good to have

- Strong knowledge base in Economics or State policies/systems or Public sector

- Multicultural experience and knowledge of additional languages is beneficial
