We are helping a portfolio company to recruit for the President position. - KROTAJ Tahini Manufactures PLC is a young international company formed to produce world-class tahini from Ethiopia, the source of Humera sesame, some of the finest available. Currently, we are looking for a strong and disciplined President with a track record successfully managing a food manufacturing facility and with a solid understanding of the ins and outs of all facets of a food manufacturing business. The ideal candidate is able to lead the KROTAJ team in meeting international business standards in terms of the quality of outputs as well as timeliness. - KROTAJ invites a driven and like-minded professional to apply and join us in pursuing this mission and vision OVERVIEW OF ROLE:&nbsp; - The President is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Company on a full-time basis. This position reports directly to the Board of the Company, as well as outside consultants at RENEW LLC, which will work with the President to design and implement best practices and standard operating procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp; - The President is responsible for the leadership and management of all strategic and business aspects of the Company. The President will be the first in command in the Company and responsible for giving the proper strategic direction as well as creating a vision for success.&nbsp; - The President is accountable for the overall operations of the Company with particular focus on tahini manufacturing, food technology, quality control, supply chain, and manufacturing equipment maintenance. - Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations and customer relationships, communicating with sales and marketing unit and planning use of raw materials and human resources. - Specifically, we are looking for top candidates who have demonstrated their proficiency in the following areas, while achieving notable results: Production and Quality Management : - The President will be responsible for ensuring all products KROTAJ manufactures are delivered to high-quality standards and meet customer expectations. This person must have strong communication skills and the ability to operate in varying strategic and tactical roles, covering business and technology, using various management skills and tools. Performance Management : The President will be responsible for : - Establishing and implementing strategic business, financial and operational plans, and reports by working closely with KROTAJ's leadership team (e.g., COO, CFO, Marketing and Sales Manager and Plant Manager); - Leading the overall operations of the Company, with a particular focus on the Company's manufacturing process, supply chain, and maintenance services; - Increasing revenues and reduce costs in order to ensure the highest level of profitability for the Company; and - Monitoring the implementation of operations policies, procedures, and quality systems. - Strategic Planning and Implementation Oversight - The President will develop Company priorities with the KROTAJ leadership team and design and coordinate plans for achievement of these priorities. - Adoption of Food Safety Standards and Certification of Facilities and Products The President will work with the leadership team to ensure the Company is compliant with food safety standards and quality certifications, - Working to develop and maintain the highest quality tahini - in taste, texture, and color; - Assessing project and resource requirements (for example, matching different tahini profiles to the customers wants and needs); - Planning and organizing production schedules; - Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met; - Managing both raw materials, packaging materials, and final product; and - Managing the quality assurance and food safety of products and processes in compliance with ISO 22000:2005, IS0 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007, HACCP &amp; BRC/IFS certifications and best practices. Regulatory Compliance : - With support from other management members: - The President will be responsible for ensuring that Company activities and operations are performed in compliance with local, regional, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations. Financial Planning and Management : The President will possess sufficient understanding of corporate finances specific to the food manufacturing sector of Ethiopia (or similar economies) to work hand-in-hand with the CFO and COO on the following: - Providing updates to the Board, proposed budgets and cash flow projections, and targets vs. actuals (for revenue, expenses, profit, operational efficiency, and other ratios); - Planning expenditures and to track target versus actual expenditures and revenues; - Developing forecasts for sesame and other raw material purchases and utilization and coordinate the use of such forecasts in financial and operational planning activities; and - Evaluating the performance of staff and designing and implementing incentive programs Adoption of Standard Operating Procedures The President will be responsible, with the COO, for ensuring that unit leads develop, use and update manuals and standard operating procedures for all key areas of the business, including: customer service, employee onboarding and offboarding, financial management, equipment periodic testing and maintenance, safety (of people, food safety, and data security), procurement of raw materials, order fulfillment and customer contracting and pricing. QUALIFICATIONS : - 10+ years of relevant work experience (Operations/General Management in the food manufacturing industry) - Knowledge and certification of food safety procedures and standards such as ISO, HAACP (as stated above) and others - Master in related field or equivalent food manufacturing managerial experience - Excellent time management and organizational skills - Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written; must speak and write English fluently (Amharic is a big plus) - Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability in providing clear expectations and responsibilities - Good to excellent computer skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and internet communication - Team concept management style (employee empowerment and engagement) - Work experience in Africa would be favored Wages and Benefits : - Negotiable salary with appropriate benefits.
