Reliance Infrastructure - Manager - Direct Tax - CA

Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced tax professional to manage direct tax compliance, litigation, and advisory for a diversified infrastructure and energy business.

The role requires a deep understanding of Indian direct tax laws, hands-on experience with large corporate tax matters, and the ability to collaborate across departments and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all direct tax returns, including income tax, TDS, and advance tax computations.

- Manage tax audits, assessments, appeals, and coordinate with legal counsel for representation before tax authorities and appellate forums.

- Handle transfer pricing documentation and compliance, including intercompany transactions and filings.

- Evaluate and advise on the tax implications of new projects, contracts, restructurings, and transactions.

- Work closely with business, finance, legal, and external consultants for tax planning and risk mitigation.

- Monitor regulatory updates and ensure ongoing compliance with the Income Tax Act and related provisions.

- Support in finalization of tax provisions for financial statements including deferred tax accounting (Ind AS/IFRS).

- Assist in managing tax-related reporting requirements for statutory audits, internal audits, and management reviews.

- Drive process improvements and leverage technology/tools to enhance tax function efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) with 58 years of post-qualification experience in direct taxation.

- Prior experience in large corporates or Big 4 accounting firms with exposure to infrastructure, power, or EPC businesses preferred.

- Strong grasp of corporate taxation, transfer pricing, litigation management, and tax accounting.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- Working knowledge of SAP and tax compliance tools is a plus.
