About the Role:
- We are looking for a high-performing Relationship Manager (RM) to join the SME / Mid-Market vertical of our reputed banking client.
- This is a strategic client-facing role, responsible for acquiring new clients, managing relationships, and delivering tailored financial solutions to businesses with credit requirements typically above INR 25 Cr.
- The RM will act as a trusted banking partner for mid-sized corporate clients, playing a pivotal role in understanding their financial needs and offering comprehensive banking solutions while ensuring adherence to risk, compliance, and profitability benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Acquisition & Portfolio Management:
- Drive new client acquisition in the SME / Mid-Market segment, focusing on clients with borrowing requirements of INR 25 Cr and above.
- Manage and enhance a portfolio of existing clients, ensuring sustained engagement and client satisfaction.
- Leverage market intelligence to identify high-potential leads and business opportunities within the assigned region.
Credit Structuring & Proposal Development:
- Assess client needs and design customized credit solutions aligned with both client objectives and the bank's risk and return framework.
- Ensure optimal structuring of facilities for working capital, term loans, structured finance, and other relevant banking products.
- Prepare detailed credit appraisal notes, financial models, term sheets, and presentations for internal credit approval forums.
Credit Risk Appraisal & Sanction Process:
- Conduct robust financial and credit risk assessments of prospective and existing clients.
- Collaborate with credit teams to resolve queries, justify business rationale, and present cases to senior sanctioning authorities for timely approvals.
- Maintain compliance with internal credit and risk guidelines, ensuring portfolio quality and sustainability.
Execution & Internal Coordination:
- Ensure seamless transaction execution by liaising with internal departments such as legal, credit, operations, compliance, and treasury.
- Drive timely completion of documentation, limit setups, disbursements, and post-sanction compliance activities.
- Maintain meticulous follow-ups for end-to-end transaction lifecycle management.
Relationship Management & Wallet Share Growth:
- Build deep-rooted relationships with client promoters, CFOs, and senior decision-makers to gain trust and increase wallet share.
- Position the bank as a comprehensive financial partner by cross-selling a wide suite of corporate banking products and services.
- Proactively identify and cater to evolving client needs, ensuring long-term client retention.
Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Mitigation:
- Continuously monitor the credit health of the portfolio to ensure early identification of stress or deterioration.
- Take proactive measures to mitigate emerging risks and safeguard asset quality.
- Engage in periodic reviews, financial monitoring, and sectoral risk analysis.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in SME / Mid-Market / Large Corporate banking as a Relationship Manager with a reputed bank or financial institution.
- Strong exposure to structured lending, working capital finance, trade finance, and treasury products.
- Proven ability to independently manage large client relationships and lead end-to-end deal execution.
- In-depth understanding of the local market dynamics in the assigned region.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- High level of commercial acumen, analytical ability, and problem-solving orientation.

- Supply Chain Finance (SCF), Investment Banking Solutions
