Roles and Responsibilities
- Completing first draft documents (regulatory forms; regulatory business plans, capital planning documents; liquidity planning documents; policy statements), based on ORGANIZATION’S templates and information provided by clients. Keeping templates up to date – embedding continuous improvement to maintain competitive propositions
- Developing specific financial projections based on client assumptions; and developing financial projection templates / models for core businesses
- Assistance in the modelling of stress tests and reverse stress tests; and developing elements of ICAAPs / ILAAs based on templates
- Undertaking new regulation analysis assessments based on specific criteria.
- Undertaking governance review analysis against defined benchmarks; developing initial compliance manuals / policies based on templates; and undertaking new regulatory hypothesis-based impact analyses based on specific criteria.
- Supporting responses to inter-office and inter-departmental capital exercises; and supporting complex technical advice through directed research.
- Developing initial drafts of proposals for standardized engagements and maintaining a proposal library.
- Coordinating project management office (PMO) activities and maintaining a central library of core documents such as credentials, application templates, etc.
- Supporting subject matter experts providing regulatory advice in a range of situations, including transactions, across the financial sector.
- Supporting Organization's efforts in relation to sales and marketing, Research and Development and Knowledge Management
- Working flexibility across with teams providing a range of regulatory advice and services, including advice relating to conduct of business.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong numerical and language skills. Excellent oral / written communication, planning, project management, networking and influencing skills.
- Proactive and able to think creatively; able to demonstrate a willingness to learn coupled with the ability to apply what has been learned.
- Flexibility to work across a range of regulatory focused projects.
- Knowledge and understanding of capital and liquidity regulation is preferable.
- Knowledge of the risk management methodologies as they apply to the banking sector is preferable.
- Flexibility to work across internationally where required.
Experience and Background
- Understanding of the role of financial regulators and how organization advises clients on managing their relationship with the regulator.
- Experience of working within the financial services arena, preferably including experience of working in a professional services firm or time in a prudential regulatory environment (e.g, a regulated firm's risk or regulatory department or a financial services regulator).
- Relevant Sectoral experience - Banking / Asset Management / Investment Banking / Financial Markets
- Knowledge and understanding of the commercial objectives of Financial Services firms and how regulation should seek to strike a balance between these objectives, financial stability and ensuring that customers get a fair outcome.
- Strong project management skills, evidenced by a demonstrable record of regulatory project delivery
