Regional Sales Manager - North India | Job description

Positions: RSM North & RSM South Bangalore

- We are hiring for the position of RSM - North, who will be leading the sales effort for the company for Delhi NCR, HP, Punjab, Haryana & UP. The primary objective will be to grow the brand into the category top-3 position in snack bars and breakfast cereals. They will be reporting directly to the founding team of the company, and will be actively involved in top-level strategic planning for achieving these objectives.

- Initial focus will be on MT chains in metro cities in these states. The candidate should be able to hire their own team of ASMs, TSMs, SOs and promoters to function across the region.

- Candidates will also be responsible for maintaining the existing distribution network of the company and scale it up as sales volume grows. Active travelling will be required across the region.

Responsibilities :

- Planning and executing a customised regional sales strategy, including but not limited to appointment and maintenance of stockists, SS, distributors, and MT retailers.

- Manage a team of ASMs, TSMs, SOs, promoters & merchandisers. Must have previous experience of handling a 100+ strength sales team.

- Identify competitive opportunities and risks within the market and act decisively to capitalise on such opportunities and mitigate risk.

- Build strategic relationships with decision makers in assigned accounts and maintain close relationship with the customers at various levels/functions within the organisation (i.e., sales director, innovation/marketing lead, production head)

- Develop customer relationships with dealers, distributor networks, and other influencers/decision makers to drive strategic growth

- Responsible for face-to-face execution of sales, including in-person discussions, virtual meetings and long-term BD initiatives for key accounts.

- Marketing strategies to grow the total business profitably.

- Be a leader, influencer and activator with internal and external key stakeholders

- Work with the Marketing team to participate in strategy building, monthly forecasting, sales planning, and other initiatives demanding sales input and involvement.

- Usage of new sales management processes/tools (including call reports post end user engagement).

- Attain or exceed sales plan and financial objectives.

- Develop a robust pipeline of opportunities and report in through the designated process.

- Responsible for set-up business reviews and a yearly joint business plan with key customers leveraging the support of the distributor lead and line manager.

- Provide continuous insights on competitor actions that impact our market position in the industry

Qualifications :

- MBA degree required

- Role needs strong communication skills in English and Hindi (for North India).

Experience :

- 8+ years in FMCG sales - with at least 6 years in food FMCG sales.

- Experience in at least one of the following sectors is compulsory: breakfast cereals, confectionaries, snacks, chocolates, condiments, juices

- Must have a minimum 10 years post MBA work experience in food FMCG sales.

- Should have led a sales team of 100+ on the ground.

- Regional Sales experience in the North India market required.

- The Job requires a high amount of travel - at least 40% of the time.

Desirable :

- References from earlier organisations and ex-colleagues from the food FMCG industry.

- Experience in handling sales of premium products.

- Candidates should be based out of Delhi NCR.

- Good working experience in Metro Cash & Carry & local MT accounts.
