Regional Head - West - Merchant Services (10-14 yrs)
Responsibilities:
- Acquire new merchants leading a large multi city team, driving volumes from the new sales by proactively servicing & enrolling them on specific programs.
- Lead a large multi-city team towards meeting the Clients objective of parity coverage in the market.
- Partner with Issuers ICSS, GNS, GCC in terms of integrating merchants to strengthen card value proposition.
- Drive marketing platform programs and merchant activation programs in alignment with GNMI and ME team - Grow DBV through specific programs with relevant merchants Recurring Billings, Merchant Bonus, IPG, etc
- Develop in-depth understanding of the marketplace.
- Proactively conduct research and various data gathering activities, including networking and reading, to understand the market/industry, Clients competition, and issues impacting the customers business, use SMART reports extensively to acquire and retain large merchants.
- Develop in-depth understanding of the customer.
- Place value on knowing all aspects of customers business, including organizational structure, culture, and personalities.
- Manage an effective pipeline of opportunities.
- Identify potential opportunities against major business drivers.
- Influence customer decisions - Work in partnership with the customer as a problem solver by clearly identifying the needs that will influence customers buying decision
Critical Factors to Success:
- New account additions to the merchant base
- Active engagement with merchants to ensure acceptance seamlessly on a regular basis
- Drive billing volumes through the merchants leveraging marketing programs
- Map key geographies & merchant base to ensure maximum coverage
- Engage with Sales & Service Staff and drive efficiency & productivity
- Understand the stated/unstated needs of the customer & influence effectively to design solutions oriented towards solving customer problems
Desired Profile :
- Merchant acquiring and servicing experience with a large /reputed organization.
- Retail industry experience FMCG, Online retail , PSP companies with experience of managing distribution.
- Experience in Customer, market, product knowledge.
- Knowledge of competitive market place and industry practices.
- Knowledge of merchant operating systems and information management systems - Conceptual and analytical thinking, Collaborating and influencing others
- Readily accessible to address portfolio changes / issues to the satisfaction of the merchant - Team player and effective at driving results
- Ability to establish and maintain credibility with external customers
- Adaptable to varying tasks according to account importance and / or size
- Use of quantitative data analysis to sell Value
- Coach to win
- Conduct Sales and value story trainings for the sales team - Compliance with Company Policies
Functional Skills/Capabilities:
- In-depth understanding of cards/payments business (issuing & acquiring ecosystem)
- Basic financial acumen like P&L understanding
- Knowledge of external insights & competitive landscape
Technical Skills/Capabilities:
- Understanding of new development technologies in POS machines (Tap & Pay,Scan & Pay,QR,EMI build)
- Consultative selling skills
- Handling objections
- Negotiation enabled by data & analytics
Knowledge of Platforms:
- MS office suits (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access) Preferred:
- Network platforms
- POS terminals/ systems
