RBS - Associate - Market Data/Market Risk

Role : 

The role will be responsible for market data BAU processes, and market data quality and remediation work in relation to market and counterparty credit risk, offering guidance where required to more junior team members. Actively considers the inherent, material risks of the business/organisation and analyses the risk profile and seeks confirmation that the risks are being appropriately identified, assessed and mitigated to the desired level (i.e. within Risk Appetite).

What the Business Does : 

The Role is in Market Data Methodology & BAU (Market Risk) and reports to Head of Market Data Methodology & BAU, London

Your Responsibilities : 

As Associate your key responsibilities will be -

- To interact with stakeholders, e.g. methodology teams, quantitative analysts, risk managers, regulatory reporting teams, Risk senior management

- To interact with Production Services and Risk IT teams in order to resolve feed and system issues

- To provide assistance to auditors in relation to market data and market data systems matters

- To assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting (both internal and regulatory) in relation to market data

- To assist in requirements gathering for market data systems as used within market and counterparty credit risk

- Provides expert support and advice to the business on the management of the risks which are overseen or controlled. This includes interpreting and complying with the relevant risk policy standards and risk management framework.

- Establish and maintain operations, controls, risk assessments and assurance programmes, monitoring of risk and controls to identify, assess and manage any material risks which may arise.

- Ensure adequate Business Continuity plans are maintained and tested for Market Data. Establishes and deploys robust risk and control frameworks which meet the strategic needs of the Group, including communication, training and awareness of these frameworks.

The skills you will need : 

- Degree in a quantitative/computing discipline

- Between 2 and 5 years worth of experience in handling market data processes relating to its capture, processing, maintenance and distribution and working within a market data BAU context

- Knowledge of quantitative finance and market and counterparty credit risk management across multiple asset classes

- An aptitude for problem solving, and working on deriving solutions whether as part of a team or on an individual basis

- MS Excel; Working with Bloomberg, Reuters and Market APIs

- An understanding of VaR and Market Risk
