Role : 

- The role comprises managing the Credit Analytics Team (CAT) in India to ensure that the team provides efficient and effective support to onshore Credit Officers in credit risk assessment of Corporate and Institutional Banking counterparties.

This role also has standard accountabilities for management & supervision within their own department.

What The Business Does : 

- The Credit Analytics Team supports the global Credit Risk team in a team extension model covering the credit risk assessments for counterparties globally and across all client sectors. They analyze the management, industry, business evaluation of the company and financials assessment.

- The team prepares a credit application with financial spreads including historical and forecasted financial modelling and risk grading, LGD, PD and EAD recommendations. It is responsible for extracting and discussing the credit limits utilizations and challenging/considering the same with the credit officers based on the need for reviewing the limits in the annual review.
 
Your Responsibilities : 

- Ensure business interface with senior internal clients (credit officers, Franchise (Funds/Asset managers)/Region leads (APAC, UK and NV)

- Responsible for process improvements, key metrics and owning the delivery of quality reviews within KPIs in the team

- Effective change management and provide Credit Recommendation on the Annual Reviews

- Ensuring risks are thoroughly and objectively assessed for counterparties, taking into account all relevant financial, regulatory and market information

- Drive monthly meetings with onshore and creating consensus in driving the priorities on capacity for renewals, transactions, monitoring and themes for quality

- Accountable for driving KPI's in the team. Also, track KPIs in regular, accurate and timely MI with active stakeholder communication

- High quality and timely service deliveries as per SLAs

- Efficient and effective day-to-day management/operation of team (maintaining requisite quality, productivity, GIA scores, compliance with applicable policies and procedures, effective risk controls, improving processes, cost control, effective change management, meeting KPIs etc)

- Provide effective leadership and management for the extended team as per RBS Leadership standards

- Mentor, coach and develop team for APAC and Funds clients

- Responsible for hiring, on-boarding for the team

- Take ownership for the performance management of the team

- Ensure attrition rates remain in line or below the target for the unit

- Manage employee engagement initiatives including reward and recognition activities for the team

- Lead training needs analysis review for the team and ensure relevant learning solutions are put in place

- Ensure the team is fully resourced with the relevant skill set and experience

- Maintain relationship of the local team with onshore senior management

- Drive risk change and ensure prioritization of work as per the capacity, skill set and expectations of the Global Sector leads and their teams

- Handle Credit Recommendation and Quality Checking

- Sound articulation of risk along with developing at par or better understanding towards a portfolio which is based in a different country as compared to the local analyst or credit officer based in that Country

- Comply with Our Code, all RBS policies, - How we manage RBS-, and deliver against all relevant statutory, regulatory, supervisory and legal obligations

- Proactive identification and effective management and/or escalation of conduct risk to deliver key customer outcomes

- Own and develop the risk and control mechanisms for the business to use to discharge its responsibilities, independently overseeing and challenging effective management of risks and controls within agreed risk appetites

- Provide expert support, advice, management information and escalation to leaders and the business on risk management.

The Skills That You Need : 

- MBA/CA/CFA/Post Graduate with at least 8 years of relevant experience in credit risk and 3 years of experience in a people management role

- Proven track record of developing people and talent in a global model

- Proven track record of managing complex stakeholder relationships (internal and external) at a senior level and on a global basis

- Proven ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner, to potentially very diverse audiences

- Advanced people management skills

- Experience in managing transitions, setting-up new teams and departments

- Experience of working in an international, multi-site, service driven business

- Ability to establish credibility at senior management levels

- Experience of leading, motivating and managing large teams

- Good knowledge of non-financial risks, including legal, documentation, reputational, regulatory and operational

- Excellent knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis together with ability to identify key characteristics and drivers of an industry/counterparty
