Chief Product Officer - Hospitality Connectivity & Distribution
We, at RateGain, are looking for an innovative & result-driven Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO) for our Distribution business which essentially builds API connectivity between hotel chains & OTAs. As a key member of our leadership team, the CPTO will play a pivotal role in defining the "why" of the product and what is to be build next that will exceed customer expectations and significantly increase revenue through high-value differentiators. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of API connectivity, along with a proven track record of building innovative products to scale. while also driving the company's bottom-line growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy and Development:
- Identify the key needs of our enterprise hotel chain customers to develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy with a focus on creating a 10x differentiator in the market to drive high double-digit growth and significantly increase revenue.
- Utilize a combination of customer feedback, surveys, product usage analytics, and other data sources to gather insights for product enhancement.
- Shape the vision and roadmap of our products, ensuring they surpass competition and meet customer needs effectively.
- Stay updated with technological advancements and integrate relevant technologies to enhance product capabilities.
Analyze the competitive landscape using data-driven methodologies to identify areas where our API connectivity product can stand out with unique and valuable differentiators.
Competitive Analysis:

- Develop strategies to position our product as a market leader based on data insights.
- Establishing the Customer Advisory Board:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to establish the Customer Advisory Board.
- Identify key customers and industry leaders to invite to the board.
- Collaborate with the commercial Heads and marketing teams to engage potential board members.
- Organize regular meetings with the Customer Advisory
- Utilize the input from the Customer Advisory Board to shape our product development and innovation strategies.
- Align the product roadmap with the evolving needs and expectations of our customers.
Product Marketing:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective product positioning, messaging, and marketing collateral based on data-driven analysis.
- Utilize data insights to drive go-to-market activities and ensure successful product launches.
Product Evangelism:
- Promote and evangelize our products through various platforms, including industry events, online webinars, and other relevant channels.
Performance Monitoring:
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for the API connectivity product and monitor its performance against established metrics, backed by data-driven analytics.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement data-informed strategies to achieve product success.
Business Acumen and P&L Responsibility:
- Develop strategies to drive revenue growth and maximize profitability for the product portfolio. This includes identifying new business opportunities, pricing strategies, and upselling or cross-selling initiatives. success and drive revenue growth.
- Prepare and manage budgets for the product portfolio, aligning financial goals with overall company objectives. Conduct accurate financial forecasting to support business planning.
- Take ownership of the Profit and Loss (P&L) for the product portfolio and ensure financial objectives are met or exceeded.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams, utilizing data to align cross-functional teams and achieve product development milestones.
- Demonstrated ability to build and nurture strong customer relationships and leverage customer feedback to drive product enhancements.
Hiring and Nurturing A-Players:
- Identify, recruit, and hire top-notch talent for the product strategy and development team, ensuring a high-performing and collaborative team culture.
- Mentor and nurture team members, providing, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence and continuous improvement.
