Profile :


- University degree in environmental science, chemistry, sustainability. Professional trainings related to governance, risk management, and certification schemes in the field of sustainability would be beneficial.


- Three to five years of consulting or in-house experience in the sustainability context in a chemical industrial environment with a strong focus on governance, risk management, policies, and procedures.


- Ability to quickly and efficiently become familiar with the companys raw materials, operations and product portfolio as well as with Rains societal contributions.


- Experience with most relevant sustainability related global initiatives, concepts, regulations, rating schemes and standards. This includes a solid understanding of LCA and Carbon footprint considerations.


- Profound understanding of global trends and societal challenges.


- Standard Software (MS office, SAP), Special software (data banks etc.) for organization of large amounts of information could be beneficial.


Tasks and Responsibilities :


1. Sustainability related policies and procedures


- Supporting the Global Director Sustainability with development of sustainability related policies and procedures in close collaboration with other Rain departments


- Identification of gaps in Rains current sustainability related governance structure and developing and maintaining a register of existing policies and procedures, - in close alignment with other Rain departments. The gap analysis needs to reflect findings from Rains sustainability assessments under globally accepted standards, such as EcoVadis, IntegrityNext or CDP.


- Preparation of concept proposals to address certain gaps in close collaboration with other corporate functions and BUs, respectively, as needed. Preparation of draft policies and procedures according to needs and priorities.


- Preparation of the approval for policies and procedures through department heads and executive team members, respectively.


2. Monitoring trends/ Knowledge Management


- Research in order to identify sustainability related strategically relevant topics.


- Monitor and track relevant sustainability trends and topics for the company. This includes to establish a process for monitoring of trends and topics and maintaining an internal knowledge documentation.


3. Sustainability related Risk Management


- Further development of existing Issue map tool in alignment with the Chemical Regulatory Compliance and Hazardous Substance Management subgroups.


- Further development of risk assessment methodology, incl. exchange with local compliance officers and other Rain departments.


- Assessment of prioritized risks and preparation of summaries for the internal communication to Rain department heads, corporate function heads, BU heads and executive team.


4. Support Day to Day sustainability work


- Support in providing sustainability information via rating and ranking questionnaires/surveys e.g., CDP and EcoVadis.


- Consulting for and supporting of Rain Carbon departments regarding sustainability relevant issues, and sustainability related requests e.g., from customers (ongoing activity, based on requests).
