Engineering Manager

Position: We are looking for an Engineering Manager that would be willing to take on significant responsibilities in areas as varied as Catalog, Search & Recommendations; Supply Chain, Shipping & Logistics, Inventory Planning; Travel and Digital.

Location: Bangalore, INDIA

Experience expected: 10-15 years

Responsibilities

- Develop a high performing and result-oriented engineering team

- Represent the engineering team in product requirement discussions, creation of schedules and manage the overall budget

- Provide value-added expertise in engineering design. Take final decisions on conflicts around technical solutions.

- Experience building large-scale SaaS products and/or consumer internet products, web application infrastructure

- Proven track record of growing up the ranks in an RD organization

- Create, improve and drive operational excellence, quality, security and privacy initiatives across the entire engineering team

- Provide staffing forecasts and participate in all hiring activity

- Own the delivery of high-quality software on time, in collaboration with product management, making decisions that balance business requirements with technology constraints

- Represent engineering at the leadership level and manage realistic expectations with stakeholders

- Strong understanding of architectural principles for SaaS-based capabilities

Responsibilities

Requirements

- 10+ years of architecture of enterprise applications experience

- 8+ years of object-oriented Java / J2EE development

- 8+ years of full SDLC experience (requirements gathering, architecture, development, QA)

- 5+ years of experience in leading releases / Sprints

- 4+ years of managing team of 10 or resources

- Experience with Spring (MVC, IOP/DI, REST, Security); Hibernate/Spring

- Experience with REST web services

- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL concepts like Redis and Mongodb

- Understanding concepts of CDN; Content Management

- Must have worked on any one messaging solutions

- Knowledge of for micro service design and development experience

- Used Agile methodology

- Experience working on Unix, shell scripting; Build Systems

- Experience in performance optimization is an added advantage

- Experience in Ecommerce is a Plus

- Experience leading or working with cross geography teams

Technical Skills -

- Java, J2EE

- Spring (MVC, IOP/DI, REST, Security); Hibernate/Spring; REST web services

- Experience in Any one of the messaging solutions like Kafka, RabbitMQ

- Working Knowledge in SQL, No SQL concepts, Redis or / and Mongo DB, Angular JS, Angular 6, HTML/XHTML, CSS3, JavaScript
