Data Science Leader

Position: We are looking for a DS Leader to provide leadership and strategic direction on improved analytics and reporting capabilities. Provides leadership on integrated analytics needs on information integration and sharing with various stakeholders, to improve coordination and decrease gaps. Serves as principal analytics champion within the organisation and that would be willing to take on significant responsibilities in areas as varied as Catalog, Search & Recommendations; Supply Chain, Shipping & Logistics, Inventory Planning; Travel and Digital.

Location: Bangalore, INDIA

Experience:

- 10+ years progressive leadership experience with large scale data analysis and outcome evaluation experience required. e-commerce experience is highly preferred

- Extensive experience in developing strategy around data architecture, building teams and standardisation.

- Experience in risk and non-risk delivery model is highly preferred

- Experience working in advanced data science (e.g. machine learning, predictive analysis, AI) and ability to select right data solutions for business needs

- Experience creating and leading within a complex cloud-based environment using established methods such as Agile.

- Association Rules, Singular Value Decomposition, Principal Component Analysis, and Clustering techniques to model business use cases

- Exposure to Collaborative Filtering, Personalisation, Segmentation, Text Analytics, Information Retrieval will be a necessity

- Extensive working knowledge of Python/R/SQL programming language, open source ML libraries/tools such as Scipy /Numpy / scikit-learn / NLTK / Tensor Flow or cloud based APIs from Google, Amazon etc. will be a necessity.

- Should be an expert in executing supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms on a large scale data analytics framework like Apache Spark

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong quantitative abilities, distinctive problem-solving and excellent analysis skills.

- Strong organisational, communication and presentation skills

Knowledge:

- Business acumen on market trends and associated data and intelligence tool supporting needs

- Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement theory and practice

Skills:

- Proficiency in statistical methodologies

- Experience in module design, defining requirements, project risks and create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning

- Demonstrated ability managing multiple processes, resources and projects in a manner that will maximize efficiency and productivity

- Strong mathematical, analytical and technical skills

- Strong organisational and conflict resolution skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong leadership acumen with team management experience

Education:

- Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred.
