Quant Trader - Vega Trading Desk

Job Purpose

Looking for a Trader to join the Vega Trading desk. The candidate will join an existing team of derivatives traders and work alongside to help improve the desks performance.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform statistical analysis of historical and current financial market data

- Generate options trading strategies, validate them with data crunching and pitch them to traders

- Develop and maintain opportunity trackers and position monitors in the equity derivatives space

- Learn structuring, pricing and trading/hedging exotic options and eventually do all of these independently

- Coordinating with Risk and Mid office teams for day to day desk activities

- Gradually run own trading book, take ownership of risk and PnL

Job Requirements

Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in statistics, finance, engineering, mathematics, physics, computational finance from tier-1 institute

Experience 1-3 Years

- Functional Competencies - Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills

- Hands on experience of coding in Python and/or R required

- Excellent MS Office skills with a strong focus on automation, knowledge of Excel VBA is highly preferred

- Knowledge of derivatives is a plus but not mandatory

- Behavioral Competencies - Ability to communicate well, thinking on their feet, ability to handle high pressure
