Job Purpose: To manage the overall Quality Assurance, Quality Control functions for the Company. This will cover the personal care, perfumes and colour cosmetics product portfolios. The incumbent shall be responsible to lead and manage the entire QC Team while building a systemised and rigorous quality control procedure for RM Chemicals, FG as well as packaging materials. - Overall management of QA, QC Responsibilities for Chemical Raw Materials. - Overall Management of QC, QA responsibilities of Finished goods - all categories (Personal Care/Perfumes/Colour Cosmetics). - Overall Management of QC, QA responsibilities of Packaging Material (Personal Care/Perfumes/Colour Cosmetics). Principal Accountabilities &amp; Responsibilities: To effectively manage the Quality Control/Assurance Department by contributing in the following areas: - Overall management of new packaging material development. - To define, develop and establish Quality Assurance Policies/SOP- s, Quality Manual, Validation Master Plan and BMI instructions as per International Quality standards. - To adhere the requirements of QMS, GMP requirement of the Factory as per the standard requirements / guidance (ISO, USFDA, EU, GSO). - To control entire gamut of QMS procedures and ensure plant is compliant to accreditations and certifications. - Management of Packaging materials specification based on the study conducted during development. - To test and inspect incoming packaging material as per the MIL-standard. - Ensure full compliance with company policies and regulatory bodies regarding packaging materials, operation and quality standards. - To instill quality standards, process control, bench marking practices to establish good quality products by the organization. - To monitor the new product development trials, approval from the R&amp;D and quality and record the final specifications for master sample reference. - To review and evaluate the inspection schedules and its outcome. To monitor and control dispositions on major / minor/ critical rejects appropriately and to accept materials / finished goods within quality limits (AQL) as per the MIL standard 105-D. - To assure quality checks on all incoming packaging materials, in process checks and finished goods (FG) from production by working on non-conformities and preventing defects. - To gauge and monitor the quality standards of subcontractors on molding and cosmetics productions. - To formulate SOP- s, availability of master samples, BMI instructions and technical inputs for the team. - To investigate the customer complaints, rejections and rework by identifying root causes and trouble shoot deviations. - To ensure continual improvements and developments are nurtured in the team through periodic review meetings. Manage Inspection schedules - Set inspection schedules for Incoming and production - Monitor the sampling procedures (MIL Standard), test parameters, and test reports. - Ensure team records on the first article / first shot approval and performance log entries. - Monitor the deviations and dispositions made take corrective action. - Ensure inspections are completed on time. - To ensure customer requirements and ensuring these are met. Manage Quality Control - Formulate SOP's for process and test validations. - Ensure availability of master samples / BMI instructions. - Set appropriate quality tools, calibrations measured to control the variations - Monitor quality process validations and assessments. - Track performance and do root cause analysis. Reduce non-conformities. - Monitor the Tolerance levels and dispositions. Evaluate reports on rework or minor deviations - Analyze reports and direct the team to take corrective and preventive measure to achieve quality compliance. Mange Quality Assurance - Analyze the preventive actions taken to assure quality standards - Advocate due diligence to avoid escaped defects. - Implement effective systems to gauge the quality of the finished products. - To train workmen and manpower adequately to reduce quality non-conformities. Monitor, review &amp; improve Performance - Track defect trends and take steps to improve quality standards. - Review the issues, conduct periodic review meetings/ cross functional meetings to identify the root causes and work on reducing the non-conformities. - Stabilize the calibrating standards and test parameters, instances, documents, references to avoid escaped defects and complaints. - Analyze reports under quality management tools like statistical process control / TQM / six sigma methodologies to reduce variations in the quality output. - Improve process control by practicing 5S, benchmarking standards. Leadership / Employee Performance &amp; Trainings - Ensure the team develops and improves on quality management. Improve the process knowledge for team and workmen. - Mandate trainings on JDE user knowledge - Team members to initiate and develop process improvements to improve quality standards. - Provide performance feedback and review process measures Skills &amp; Competencies Required: - Should be from the Personal Care, and Perfume industry. - Good knowledge and background in Quality Control techniques, instrument handing and testing methodologies using the instruments GC-MS, ICP-OES, KF Titrator, FTIR, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, Refractometer, Viscometer, Centrifuge testing, Melting point testing apparatus, Dean and Stark apparatus etc. - Working knowledge of perfume &amp; cosmetics ingredients, raw material, finished goods and packaging standards, Operation standards. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Good numerical skills and understanding of statistics - Strong knowledge in Quality Management Systems such as QMS - ISO-9001, GMP-22716. - Capable of evaluating / analyzing technical data and organizing / presenting technical information. - Good Knowledge of MS Excel and any ERP system. User knowledge in JD Edwards ERP system would be an advantage.
