PV Diagnostics - Lead Data Scientist - IIT/NIT/IIIT

PV Diagnostics is a leading solar power plant diagnostics, performance improvement and quality control solutions provider in India. In simple terms, doctors for solar power plants and also provide solutions to maximize electricity generation from the plant.

PV Diagnostics is a 3-year-old profitable company with marquee clients such as Tata Power, Renew Power, and top private equity firms. The core team comes from IIT Bombay and has a cumulative experience of 40+ years in the solar industry, spread across the solar value chain.

PVD has an ace solar technology team and is now building a cloud-based platform to enable our customers with proactive diagnostics and predictive maintenance.

Opportunity to work with one of the best solar technology teams in the country and build predictive models for direct application in the solar sector.

We are looking to on-board a core team member to lead the data team at PV Diagnostics. Some of the work for the candidate will include working on integrating physics models with data analytics to improve prediction models, deriving correlations between different data types, time-series analysis for predictive insights for the dashboard.

We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented, and highly motivated data scientist to help create data-backed insights. The candidate should be comfortable interfacing with technology systems and be able to analyze data and gather actionable conclusions. Operating in a rapidly changing environment will require the candidate to be adept at dealing with ambiguous, new, and challenging situations. The candidate should be comfortable in executing repeatable processes.

What you will do

- Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format.

- Add a data-centric approach to improve the accuracy of the existing physics-based model and perform prediction modeling.

- Development of data collection processes and data management systems.

- Maintenance of data integrity.

- Designing of queries, compiling of data, and generation of reports.

- Data mining and problem-solving

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering, Operation Research, Math or related discipline. Tier 1 college (IITs/NITs/IIITs etc.) will be preferred

- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Data Analyst or Data Scientist role preferred

- Demonstrated analytical ability, worked in a results-oriented environment with understanding of modeling and machine learning

- SQL, Explore-Transform-Load(ETL) & Python knowledge, hands-on is a must

- Exploratory data analysis(EDA), time series analysis, feature engineering, linear algebra

- Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and windows-based applications

Preferred Qualifications :

- Previous experience in the solar sector and backend software development

- Experience with Keras or Pytorch libraries, Matplotlib and ARIMA, RNN/LSTM, DNN, CNN

- Advanced SQL skills, fluent in Python, advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and analytical platforms

- Understanding of SCADA systems, image auto analysis will be preferred
