Looking for a Purchase Head for my client into Chemicals
Is responsible for creating a procurement plan and direct the procurement activities for efficient production operations.
- To develop, review and get approved administrative and purchasing procedures.
- To develop and liaison with vendors in domestic and international.
- To keep a track of critical material requirement and proactively plan and procure based on consumption trend or schedule.
- Provide leadership in meeting plan and cost reduction targets and sharing best practices with the operations for adopting these for local purchases.
- Ensure all product/material purchases meet defined quality
- Anticipate supply bottlenecks and to create buffers.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies and does cost analysis on the basis of and current business trends and developments in domestic and international sourcing.
- Increase customer leverage and buying power through supplier rationalization; create a more competitive negotiating environment to obtain purchase cost savings.
- Enhance the procurement function as measured by reduced cost, improved delivery, and the implementation of successful sourcing strategies.
- Maintaining and developing relationships with logistical and procurement support sources.
- Negotiating with both internal and external groups; effectively settling differences with minimum disruption to relationships and the process.
- Organize and manage general managerial and administrative activities, including selecting and supervising staff, monitoring staff performance and evaluating department effectiveness.
- Any other jobs assigned by the management.
Requirement
- 10-20 years
- Science Graduate & diploma in material management is preferable
- Good communication skills (written & verbal)
- Experience in handling commercial function with knowledge of taxation including export, excise, custom procedures and documentation.
- Should be able to work independently and able to lead a team.
- Highly savy in IT and any ERP such as SAP is desirable.
- Good negotiation skills & leadership skills.
- Should be willing to travel.
- Good vendor management skills and exposure of handling domestic as well as global purchasing.
- Good interpersonal and coordination skills.
- Should have relevant experience in the field of chemical/ petrochemical.
- Should be a team player and team leader and should have proven skills in decision making and problem solving.
- High result orientation ability.
