Puma - Manager - Trade Compliance (3-7 yrs)

Objectives:

- Ensure that PUMA's activities are compliant with domestic and international import/export regulations, customs and sanctions requirements

- Manage and execute preferential and non-preferential requests (LDC, Form A, CoOs)

- Manage and apply for required Trade licenses, permits

- Conduct training on trade compliance laws and regulations, as well as applicable policies and procedures to country -based company associates and new hires

- Establish Customs and FTA requirements for the country considering PUMA's sourcing factories' locations

- Prepare and deliver training programs for PUMA employees and for the factories (T1) within the country / region (including Bangladesh, Pakistan, etc) regarding the Free Trade Agreements used by PUMA worldwide (if applicable), the Certificates of Origin, the Rules of Origin and Forms / Templates required by the subsidiary using the benefits of FTAs

- Be the POC for Trade and Customs matters in the country for

- brokers, agents, customs authorities, chamber of commerce and other third parties

- PUMA subs and entities, and

- Suppliers/Factories used by PUMA within the country / region

to resolve problems and obtain necessary clarification of questions relating to trade and customs

- Update existing processes and procedures, develop new processes and write new procedures governing India, country specific and site-specific activities

- Assist implementation of new and existing processes, guidelines and procedures, assigned countries and assigned sites

- Support Global Trade Compliance team in duty optimization topics, focusing in the country / region

- Support the Global Trade Compliance team in developing and deploying trade compliance program and procedures. Act as primary person responsible for implementation and oversight of the PUMA subsidiary in the country

- Consult with the Global Trade Compliance team and outside counsel as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance issues

Qualifications and Functional Competencies:

- Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in Customs/Trade area

- Experience in HS (tariff) classification, customs valuation and country of origin Determination. Good knowledge of import/ customs regulations, Free Trade Agreements, Rules of Origin, Import Duties, International Regulations

- Excellent report writing and presentation skills (the ability to present trade compliance concepts in a technical environment and to persons at all levels, including top management)

- Attention to detail and accuracy

- Critical thinking and excellent problem solving and analysis skills

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize, with excellent time management skills

- Ability to handle confidential information frequently and appropriately

- Capable of working independently in support of trade compliance objectives and working collaboratively with trade compliance personal and a variety of business functions

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills

- Professional English level (written and spoken) is required

- Apparel & footwear industry experience is a plus
