Project Manager - Investment Bank (9-13 yrs)

The Role Responsibilities :

Strategy :

- Awareness and understanding of Group's strategic priorities, CABM's vision and Future State strategy and OKR (Objectives, Key Results)

- (Waterfall project) Develop a robust project plan that outlines project objectives, key milestones and deliverables, team structure, cost and schedule estimates, impacted processes, approach to manage financials, risks, implementation, change control, communication, training, quality and vendors.

- (Agile project) responsible for ensuring progress is made. Act as Scrum Master, responsible for promoting and supporting the Agile Manifesto, helping stakeholders understand Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values and how they are applied in the bank under nWOWS and SDF.

- Identify financial and non-financial benefits, track progress and communicate realisation to key stakeholders

- Business

- Waterfall delivery

- Manage the end to end project plans, coordinating activities across all resources necessary to deliver the project including change management activities

- Work in close partnership with T&I team, Business Lead and PMO to produce timely and quality status report, cost plan, maintain task list and risk log in Change Management System (e.g., Clarity, PlanView)

- Understand key drivers of project performance and ensure Accountable Executive (AE) and Portfolio Manager are made aware of any material risks, issues, cost, benefit, and scope changes and support them in updates and requests to CABM Quarterly/Monthly Performance Review (QPR/MPR)

- Ensure scope, approach, solution design, timelines, costs, benefits and all other key aspects of the project are well documented and maintain project artefacts in a centralised repository

- Manages project expenditure against budget as agreed in the project business case and project definition document or approval request, identify cost opportunities and risks. Review monthly cost report, submit accruals to Finance, determine Clarity upload data with review by PMO

- Collaborate with internal technology team, business subject matter experts and external vendor to delivers the project's products and processes into BAU

- Implement Project closure procedure

- Agile delivery

- Facilitate squad events to ensure regular progress and that ceremonies achieve their desired purpose

- Educate and coach squad members and stakeholders on Scrum/Agile principles

- Help the Product Owner and squad members to manage the Backlog to maximise value

- Help the squad members avoid or remove impediments to progress, mitigate and resolve risks and issues which may impair delivery

- Maintain and report the agile metrics for the squad

- Contribute to Scrum of Scrums (where applicable) to resolve blockers, propose improvements and discuss -lessons learnt

Processes :

- Awareness and understanding of new Ways of Working Investment Management (nWOWS), Change Risk Framework and process controls, SDF Control Framework, TPRM, SCM and Cloud processes

- Works with the Product Owners/Accountable Executives to establish the appropriate project governance structure (e.g., Refinement Forum or Project Steering Committee) and squad team, manage delivery ceremonies (backlog refinement and planning, retrospective), review unified backlog (budget and cost, resource trade-offs, scorecard metrics, risks, impediments and blockers, assumptions and dependencies), complete Change Risk Assessment (CRA), support vendor selection activities

- Understand the project lifecycle and ensures all stages of the lifecycle are managed accordingly. Ensure effective communication of Lining up the Work (LuW) and Doing the working (DtW), go-live assurance.

People and Talent :

- Provides leadership, management and coaching to stakeholders to ensure they are very engaged

- Promotes and embeds a culture of openness, trust and risk awareness, where ethical, legal, regulatory and policy compliant conduct is the norm.

- Ensures each project role / resource has clear responsibilities, reporting lines, delegated authorities and objectives

Risk Management :

- Ensures that issues, risks and interdependencies are identified, managed and resolved and ensures a robust escalation process is in place where AE/PO and PSC/RF are required to own mitigating actions

- Ensures key person risks (BAU and project) are mitigated

- Manages project governance through delivery of detailed work decomposition, project working group/ refinement forum, MI on new tooling (Clarity/Jira/SharePoint/Tableau/PlanView etc)

- Ensures all project artefacts are always audit ready

- Where applicable, assists the PMO with Post Implementation Reviews and Benefits Realisation Ownership handovers at Project closure

- Compile lessons learned to contribute to process improvement

Governance :

- Ensure there is appropriate governance at all levels from the MPR/RF to Delivery

- Manages the nWOWS Assurance framework for the project, complying with the respective policies and standards, and ensure squad members are aware and complying

- Prepares materials for governance meetings as required including updates to the Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing Management Team, CABM Quarterly/Monthly Performance Review (CABM QPR/MPR), Refinement Forums (RF) or Programme/Project Steering Committee (PSC)

Regulatory & Business Conduct :

- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.

- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

- Lead the CABM TEAMS to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles

- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Key Stakeholders :

- Product Owners and Delivery Leads of CABM investment projects

- CABM Process Owners

- Head, Planning & Prioritisation / PMO / Portfolio Manager / QPR Coordinator

- Subject Matter Experts/Product Managers

- Technology Lead, Technology Project Manager. The Project Manager may also be required to partner with Business Analysts, Product Engineers, Systems Developers, as well as Product, Operations and Production Support teams as necessary.

- Enterprise Change Management (ECM)

- Second line defence representative : Conduct, Financial Crime and Compliance (CFCC), Operational risk, Trust, Data & Resilience (TDR)

- Supply Chain Management (SCM)

Our Ideal Candidate :

- Scrum Master (SM) certified and/or PMP (Project Management Professionals)

- Experience working within the financial industry and/ or Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing is preferable

- Experience in project management positions 8+ years

- Strong analytical skills

- Self-starter with a 'can do' attitude and commitment to do what it takes to deliver

- Highly organised, independent and self-motivated. Able to influence stakeholders and guide others in delivering change

- Able to bring their own point of view and recommendations. Organized, flexible and with a common-sense attitude, effective in ambiguous situations

- 'Agile' mindset: the ability to learn quickly, listen, synthesize issues and articulate recommendations

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

- Strong networking skills, good at building relationships.
