Project Manager


Position Summary:


This is a multi-faceted role to take end-to-end ownership of implementation quality of the project working closely with the World Bank team, Govt. of Nagaland and other company teams.

Key roles and responsibilities include:

- Take ownership of the project and manage it end-to-end, lead a high-quality team and effectively break down workstreams and ensure high outcome-orientation.


- Conduct diagnosis, design solutions, and facilitate implementation through first principles problem solving


- Prepare strategic roadmaps and implementation plans with goals and milestones


- Identify operational bottlenecks and weaknesses, and devise resolution pathways


- Set-up project management processes and guidelines


- Develop and manage strong working relationships with key bureaucrats at the state level including Principal Secretary, State Project Director, etc.


- Manage day to day operations and liaise with the state to ensure the required buy-in, inputs, permissions and resources are made available.


- Actively build internal capabilities and support team members by sharing learnings, providing feedback, and ensuring their training and development.


Educational Qualifications and Experience Required:


- Ideal candidate should have a strong on-ground implementation experience of large-scale education programs backed by a solid background in examination reform, curriculum development, assessment, teacher preparation and instructional coaching.

- Strong academic background from a reputed institute with a post-graduation or a fellowship in education

- At least 5+ years of hands-on education on-ground program implementation experience in a demanding education enterprise or non-profit workplace, designing and implementing large-scale programs, designing training modules and coaching/mentoring protocols, supporting teacher-coaches, solving implementation breakdowns (especially in low-capacity settings)


- Excellent people management and project delivery skills, including the ability to lead a small specialist team, create project plans and dashboards, drive execution, manage multiple projects at a time, influence internal and external stakeholders


- Candidates with experience of working in the north-east region of India will be given preference.

Compensation Remuneration will be competitive with Indian development sector pay scales and will depend upon the candidate's skills and experience levels.
