Project Manager - Climate Change/Clean Energy/Clean Water - NGO (4-8 yrs)

Role :

- This role which requires managing social impact projects in rural India in Clean Energy, Clean Water, and Nature Based Solutions.


- These projects will require conducting baseline studies, collecting data across a large number of households across villages, coordinating with implementation partners (who are usually local NGOs), identifying capacity building requirements, budgeting, coordinating the distribution of household devices such as improved cookstoves, LED bulbs etc.

- S/he will work closely with team members and implementation partners to ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track. Responsibilities include managing the overall project, project deliverables, preparing regular status reports, and establishing effective project communication plans with implementation partners.

- A successful candidate will have proven experience in project management and the ability to lead project teams and coordinate with different project partners. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities :

- Overall project management and ensuring the success of the social impact project.

- Develop a detailed project schedule, work plan, and budget based on the scope of work and resource requirements.

- Coordinate with team members and implementation partners to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules and to identify and resolve issues.

- Submit regular project status reports and ensure that project deliverables adhere to quality standards.


- S/he will be expected to utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution.


- Supervise contracts with vendors and suppliers and manage relationships with partners and project stakeholders.

- Facilitate change requests and establish effective project communication to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.

- Coordinate the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system to project partners.

- Monitoring, learning and evaluation of key project metrics

- Conduct post-project evaluation and measure project performance to identify areas for improvement

Experience and Qualifications :

Academic Qualification and Experience :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Renewable Energy, or another directly relevant technical discipline.

- 5-10 years of project management experience leading project teams of varied sizes through the full project life cycle and according to the outlined scope, budget, and timeline.

- Proven track record of managing cross functional project teams in the social sector.

- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or a strong understanding of project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices

- Budget management experience.

Additional & Preferred Requirements :

- Good IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project or other project management software.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Excellent interpersonal skills with a flexible approach and the ability to influence and motivate others.

- Developed negotiation skills.

- Results focused.

- Team player

- Experience in social sector
