Project Management Role - Infrastructure Firm

Role Summary:

- A Technical Project Manager working for the Technical Project Manager

- You will be managing multiple major infrastructure and application upgrade projects such as; Exchange 2010, Server 2008+, SQL 2008+ consolidations, Windows 7 & Office 2010 roll outs, File and Print server rationalizations, Citrix upgrades, SAN expansions/replacement, ESX VMware replacement/migration, File & Email Archiving and various other infrastructure upgrades

- You will help turn Technical Design Architect approaches and estimates into commercial proposals and project plans - then manage those projects to completion

Overall Project/Task description :

- Assisting with scoping of technical infrastructure projects

- Providing technical experience to shape plans and proposals

- Robustly challenge architect and engineer estimates to avoid scope creep

- Completion of Project Management documentation such as PIDs, plans, issues log, risk logs, quotes, highlight reports

- Provide input into Programme Managers finance and resource models

- Ensure all invoicing is up to date

- Ensure resource booking system is up to date and projects and planned as far in advance as possible

- Act as an escalation point for the implementation engineer

- Manage the customer within the boundaries of the project invoking change control where necessary

- Go above and beyond for customer service excellence

- Ensure that projects are Accepted Into Service and that they are signed off by Service teams

- Attend/chair project board and team meetings where applicable

- Provide status updates to internal and external stakeholders

- Make on site management aware of issues and opportunities through building relationships with the customer

Qualification Criteria/Work Experience

Essential:

- PRINCE2 practitioner or PMP certified

- Application upgrades

- Data migrations

- System implementations

- Managed Service environments

- Thorough knowledge of IT infrastructure

- Working with Technical Design Architects, Engineers, Third Parties

- Datacenter hosting platforms

- Active Directory

- Exchange

- ESX

- TCP IP

- Network - Routing, Firewall

- Windows Server OS

- VMware & Virtualisation

- SAN (EMC, NetApp)

- Terminal Servers

- Citrix Servers

- Windows XP & 7, Office 2003 - 2010

- SQL databases

- Oracle databases
