Project Lead - Analytics - CPG/Retail (5-8 yrs)

The Retail Project Leader role would focus on leading a team of associates and analysts to work on building and deploying analytical solutions pertaining to strategic decisions for Retail clients, delivering quality analysis and generating strong business insights. The project leader would work under the guidance of a Team Manager / Sr. Team Manager, playing a key role in driving the overall project, planning and scoping the work, managing the team, building analysis, packaging deliverables with quality insights and communicating with clients.

The project leader would work on a variety of solutions within the Retail (primary focus) and CP domain for both end-clients and Bain case teams across geographies and would also play a role in enhancing and contributing to the products

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Developing, enhancing & delivering Retail/ CP solutions :

- Understand client needs and case objectives within different situations and adapt to them

- Ensure timely, high quality, zero-defect analysis and output produced by the analysts

- Communicate data, knowledge, insights and implications to both the clients and entire team

- Generate and screen realistic answers based on sound reality checks and recommend actionable solutions

- Provide thought leadership and sound business judgment to drive the team's analysis on cases across geographies in the Retail and CP space

Developing Solution expertise :

- Build expertise on existing products and help develop newer solutions for the Retail and CP industries

- Develop knowledge on different sub-sectors or clients within the industry and thus, add to the overall insights and thinking on projects


- Work with different analytical tools and reinforce continuous understanding of Tableau, Alteryx/ SQL/ other tools which might be relevant for different solutions/ cases

- Assess and validate relevant data from various vendors and build a solid understanding of sources to leverage based on the case objective

Mentoring Team and growing team :

- Manage team's responsibilities which involve allocating, planning, guiding, reviewing work and balancing workload within a team of analysts & associates

- Provide regular feedback for constant improvement, write reviews and also recognize team's and individual's development needs

- Effectively communicate with clients, case teams and various stakeholders within the organization

- Assist on Office Management roles (e.g. recruiting, marketing, training, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

The candidate for the role of the project leader (for Retail COE) should: -

- Be a post-graduate/ MBA from top-tier colleges with strong academic records

- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the analytics/ analytics consulting industry

- Have a good understanding of Retail/ CPG industry with a good insight into data and metrics

- Have a good hold over Tableau, Alteryx (SQL/other data tools), Excel, PowerPoint; Any other programming language/ tool (Python, R) is good to have

- Prior experience with managing small teams (2-4 members) and coaching & mentoring team members is a must

- Possess good business acumen, strong analytical and communication skills

- Be good with breaking business objectives into smaller tasks and building project plans

- Have the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders, multi-task and work under pressure
