Project Engineer - International Projects - Construction

Job Title: Project Manager

Department: International Projects

Main Objectives: The incumbent is responsible for overall project deliverance, cost control, construction, planning and scheduling, resource allocation, monitoring, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards and HSE requirements.

Note : Prior experience of GCC countries such as Saudi Arabia/Oman/Kuwait/UAE/Bahrain would be preferable an engineer by default.

Project Manager Role:

- Projecting out the project objectives and plans, setting contract performance requirements, and selecting project participants.

- Bringing about optimum utilization of resources- labor and materials and construction equipment, and ensuring their procurement at most cost-effective terms.

- Implementation of various operations through proper coordination.

- Development of effective communications and mechanisms for resolving conflicts among the various participants including client and consultant.

Job Responsibilities:

- Oversee the project from start to finish.

- Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, construction and identification of resources needed.

- Create the teams, develop the objectives/goals of each and assign individual responsibilities.

- Managing the budget, tracking if team expenses and minimizing exposure and risk in the project

- Ensure that construction activities move according to pre-determined schedule.

- Devise the project work plans and make revisions as and when need arises.

- Communicate effectively with the contractors responsible for completing various phases of the project.

- Co-ordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, which include the consultants, designers,contractors, sub-contractors and labourers.

- Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with all the sub-teams.

- Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality and safety standards

- Ensure project documents are complete.

- Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims.

- Serve as a key link with the clients and review the deliverable prepared by the team before passing onto client.

- Should serve as an interface between client and all other internal disciplines.

- Should be able to display sound technical understanding of the whole project

Skills / Experience Required:

- Prior experience of GCC countries such as Saudi Arabia/Oman/Kuwait/UAE/Bahrain would be preferable an engineer by default.Education in project management is desirable. Contract knowledge is prefer

- Overall 12 yrs of experience out of which minimum 7 years of experience in construction and project management.

- Excellent communication skills.

- Good understanding of Construction Phases (Mobilization, civil,work, installation, start up, commissioning and handing over)

- Awareness of legal issues and working standards is essential.

- Should have worked in a multi discipline environment

- Should have a good understanding and prior experience of Waste water recycle reuse/ reverse osmosis plant
