Programme Officer - Development Sector (2-6 yrs)

Project Management (65%):

- Coordinate the FED projects in India to ensure smooth implementation of activities as per the annual programme schedule (planned and reviewed quarterly).

- Developing project implementation plans with the project teams for each project.

- Reporting and recording deviations to the project implementation plans and devise mitigation strategies to support the achievement of programmatic objectives.

- Travelling to project locations and conduct regular monitoring of project activities to ensure the objectives of the projects are being met.

- Supporting the team in managing deliverables of the third parties delivering to Project Guidelines and data collection platform

- Managing communications from and to the projects as required and serving as the main of contact for the field teams.

- Sharing feedback and information to facilitate learning within and between projects to encourage continuous improvement in project delivery.

- Identify the training needs of project staff and collect feedback to ensure the continuous improvement of the systems.

- Developing and deliver training and capacity building activities around organic farming practices including reaching out to external experts to design - train the trainer- workshops as per the defined curriculum.

- Building and coordinating a resource bank of guidance materials on key sustainability issues in line with the defined curriculum and needs in the projects.

- Supporting the creation of communication materials including farmer stories and photos from the field for external and internal use

- Delivering to other programme coordination needs within the scope of programmes

Data Management (25%): 

- Keeping a close tab on data from projects that are key for decision making and taking responsibility for central data collection and aggregation.

- Managing project information in close association with the project teams to ensure that the project dashboards are up-to-date and contain accurate information.

- Developing appropriate Progress Update Reports for different projects as well as regularly updating the progress on the Corrective Action Plans submitted by projects

- Quality checking data received from field partners and ensuring it is properly documented and saved in appropriate storage formats

Strategy and analysis support (6%): 

- Outlining, conducting and/or steering quantitative and qualitative studies on diverse topics with multiple agencies and stakeholders

- Preparing decision-making materials for governance bodies, including the Advisory Council, Task Forces and Board of Trustees

- Supporting the team in organizing and facilitating governance bodies including the Advisory Council, Task Forces and Board of Trustees

- Supporting the analysis of agronomic and economic data, to ensure accurate referencing to regional contexts. Stakeholder coordination and support (2%)

- Supporting with day-to-day organizational tasks to deliver to stakeholder needs and requests

- Organizing events for existing partners and supporting the execution stakeholder events

- Serving as an ambassador of mission and activities and be comfortable presenting externally Administration and Other Tasks (2%)

- Supporting the maintenance of administrative systems for operations in India

- Other ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Director, South Asia within the scope of the programmes.

3. Required qualifications: 

- Master's degree, or equivalent higher education qualification, in a relevant field

- Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and to assimilate and process information for wide-ranging audiences

- At least 4 years experience working in the development sector or in a multi-stakeholder setting. Additional cotton/textiles/sustainability experience will be considered favourably.

- Sensitised to working with field level partners and farming communities

- Sharp attention to detail and strong ability to deliver quality work in short timeframes.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work in a collaborative manner with a team.

- Comfortable multi-tasking and taking on diverse responsibilities within the organization.

- Self-steering and comfortable with taking a proactive role in organizing own work.

- Affinity and familiarity with the variety of actors we work with (producers, value chain players; brands, NGOs, and government) and the principles of the organic standard.

- Driven and delivery oriented - comfortable working with established deadlines.

- Good IT skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel.

- Fluent in English, Hindi - other languages are a plus
