Programme Lead - Water Conservation (10-20 yrs)

Delhi NCR Job Code: 1037911

Programme Lead (Water Conservation) - Hindustan Unilever Foundation

Programme Lead (Water Conservation) :

The clock is ticking as India is likely to have half the water it needs by 2030. Hindustan Unilever Foundation (HUF) was set up in 2010 to support scalable solutions that can help address India's water challenges. Our 'Water for Public Good' programme is anchored in the belief that water is a shared resource and must be managed through citizen-led initiatives. With 80% of India's water footprint in agriculture, our programmes across the country aim to help rural communities:

- KNOW MORE through innovative water numeracy solutions like water simulation games and water budgeting that can help them map water sources, estimate water needs and quantify use

- SAVE MORE through large scale water conservation infrastructure using GIS and data-driven tools for measurement, decision making and governance

- USE LESS by driving behaviour change amongst farmers to adopt responsible water-use solutions that can secure their yields and reduce their overall costs of farming

HUF consciously partners with non-profit organisations, social enterprises, technology innovators and sector specialists. We are aware that scalable solutions for water security will require deep partnerships with a cross section of partners. Our current partners include some of the largest NGOs in the country as well as regional organisations that have done incredible work in a particularly vulnerable geography.
